Chainlink was selected by the World Economic Forum's Tipping Point report as the "Shift in Action" for Smart Contracts, for their work on allowing smart contracts in the Bitcoin network to be automatically triggered by external data. -
(image.slidesharecdn.com/worldeconomicforumtippingpoint2015blockchain41-170330211144/95/world-economic-forum-tipping-points-report-1-638.jpg?cb=1490908469)

Chainlink is partnered with Cornell's IC3, to help launch the first Intel SGX secured link between smart contracts and external data. This more secure way of running an oracle is the future and they're glad to be moving it forward.

Chainlink has been chosen as a 2017 Blockchain Applications Cool Vendor by Gartner. This validates the value that CTOs and CIOs see in our more secure approach to connecting smart contracts with critical external resources. - (gartner.com/doc/3698947/cool-vendors-blockchain-applications-)

Chainlink is presently working with SWIFT on their own SWIFT Smart Oracle. Allowing smart contracts on various networks to make payments, send governance instructions, and release collateral with over 11,000 banks. - (slideshare.net/slideshow/embed_code/key/HJglipax9KmMPx)

That sounds good and all but what about supercomputers in every city?

So how do you how much you make if you bought 220 links at .47c?

Thumbs up man.

Thanks for bringing legit information concerning all things Chainlink to /biz. Despite the shill, fanboys and FUD, Chainlink is a very decent project. Hopefully more people will read through this information and see the gem that we already see.

ON every city. Know your meme son

SWIFT's premier blockchain project consists of two main pillars:
1) Distributed Ledger Tech or DLT (basically a blockchain)
2) Smart contracts

Smart contracts are meant to bridge the gap between external data and blockchains.

SWIFT is pretty far along with the first pillar (DLT), but has nothing at all yet for smart contracts; except for Smartcontract.com/Chainlink of course.

The "gpi" thing in OP's pic is a global payments initiative, and the third phase of gpi also involves DLT and related options.
This may very well include Smartcontract.com/Chainlink, of course; but the partnership is still in its infancy.

>SWIFT's premier blockchain project consists of two main pillars:

Very first line of that SWIFT document:
>Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) and Smart Contracts (SC) promise to transform automation in the financial industry, and are generating huge interest amongst financial institutions and technology providers.

Nicely outlines the two main parts as listed above: (1) DLT and (2) Smart Contracts.

Shit! all my links are gone.

Nice

All the more reason to purchase some more bro!

massive consulting firms like Capgemini are devoting entire reports to smart contracts, specifically mentioning Smartcontract.com (= Chainlink) and Sergey Nazarov by name as the sole smart contract solution that can use external data thanks to oracles.

Excerpts:
>Sometimes, external inputs such as prices, performance, or other real-world data may be required to process a transaction, and oracle services help smart contracts with inputs such as these.

>Smart contracts will also need to be able to work with trusted external data sources if they are to utilize external information. Smart contracts can achieve this with the help of oracles – programs providing smart contracts with the data they need from the external world or carrying the commands they need to send to other systems. Sergey Nazarov, Cofounder and CEO, smartcontract.com – a startup specializing in building oracles – outlines how connectivity with real-world data will be key.

""We recently made the switch from Oraclize to Chainlink because of the decentralised aspect of Chainlink. The way we use Chainlink is pretty simple; our smart contracts track packages by using multi-carrier shipping API’s like Easypost and Postmen to view the delivery status of a package. We connect to, and pull data from, these API’s using Chainlink.
Before we made the switch from Oraclize to Chainlink we relied on one single API to serve us the correct data, which simply wasn’t secure enough when dealing with people’s money. Chainlink allowed us to stay decentralised and improve the security of our platform by allowing us to pull data from several API’s.
We are bullish on LINK and hope to accelerate the adoption by using it in our own project. There are so many use cases for LINK, our project is just one of them.""

Posted this in the last thread but thoughts?
Theoretically since this token isn't mineable and there is only a certain amount to be given away. It could be a possibility that in his mind these tokens will be valuable and the more value they have the less he will have to pay for the node operators. This will keep the business operating at full force and keep the node operators happy. Also the share holders, $80 per token might not be that farfetched

... I'd have $80,000 which is a lot of money for me.

t. pooorfag

Memes incoming

The total supply is misleading. Because nodes need to stake Link and 10k is what Rory considered the minimum for a reasonable amount of trust a lot will be locked up in staking. Roughly half are likely to be in nodes if not more. If those running the nodes just accumulate it causes the price to rise leading to the nodes selling it back to the market.

It works both ways, if poorLINKers stake 10k nodes, richLINKers will stake 100k nodes, richLINKers get richer, poorLINKers will be fighting tooth and nail to get higher priority by staking higher and higher staked nodes which will eventually happen to richLINKers as well.

This effect will be exponentially worse if there is a clear cut most profitable data stream.

You are talking about an arms race if ChainLink actually gets off ground and we reach higher and higher LINK prices.

...

who the fuck is this retard with the 180k buy order at 9.3...

i need this shit to dip back to 8k so i can buy back in...FUCK...

We're gonna make it bros.

youtube.com/watch?v=WOuI4OqJfQc

...

You are wrong, you don't even need any Link to run a node and priority will be based on the efficiency and reliability of each node. If you are tech savy and create a great node for a certain niche, you will be raking in way more Link than some dude running a cookie cutter node with 200k Link staking.

Links staked is secondhand when determining node priority.

...

Glad to see the Rank System is taking root - MAJ Aleron Reporting in.

God, you are so fucking stupid.

Staked LINK determines priority.

If you can make a node for a certain niche and you are the only node, why the fuck would you need priority when you are the only provider?

Where do I say you need LINK to stake a node? You autistic fucks are harmful to LINK. Sell your shitty little stack and get the fuck out of these threads.

>see green numbers and bars
>instantly start stroking my cock to my gains

this is better than sex

I absolutely love it. Corporal reporting in, I'm such a small fish but I gotta do my part.

I bet I still have more link than you you fucking retard and I sold most of my stack today.

Staked Link does NOT determine priority if a node is more efficient it will take PRIORITY retard staked link only acts as a tie breaker Sergey has stated this millions of times you don't even need Link to run a node kill yourself moron.

Link is rallying for moon position, it's been forcing its way all day.

More LINK then me?

>Where do I say you need LINK to stake a node?

The fucking network is based off multiple data streams, that require various degrees of precision or accuracy or whatever the oracle requires, most nodes will be data from the exact same providers.

Fucking prove you have more LINK then me dipshit, if you do I'll market sell my entire stack on Binance so people can pick up LINK for pennies.

That or shut the fuck up.

Just wait until after SIBOS
Just wait till EOY

I don't really see a scenario in which this coin doesn't reach at least a billion dollar marketcap.

Dude

I saw you in the other thread, are you so salty because you sold half your stack and should've hold, or are you just angry because all the link you can buy will still not give you the love momy never gave you

>moon mission
You linkies are so deluded.
Nobody outside of Veeky Forums knows this exists still.
It can't moon unless it gets positive reception at SIBOS and the way things are going... It doesn't seem like it will.

What the fuck are you talking about you brainlet?

yet you are posting in this thread. gtfo then. If link bothers you so much, stop posting about it. Is it that hard?

Awesome, I look forward to seeing the LINK Marines thrive all the way to the day we all make it. To Valhalla Brother!

B-Brigadier General?

Big investors still aren't ready to just jump into crypto.
Big boys like money skeleton aren't very impressed by this, they are looking at other things.
I would be lying if I said LINK doesn't have potential, but I think it may be too early for this technology.
If I wanted an excessively long term hodl I would just throw everything into bitcoin.

...

My dick is so fucking hard for LINK. This one is so fucking obvious, it's the easiest buy since ETH. The fact that some people are buying the FUD and selling or passing up on this one is literally fucking astounding to me. The ChainLink team hasnt even made one announcement yet. They have many things coming including Phase 2 implementation with SWIFT, Intel SGX intergration, exchange listings etc. Despite ZERO news the price has been steadily rising with the floor getting higher and higher. As soon as ChainLink even thinks about making one tweet this thing is going to blow into the top 20 to top 10 coins so fucking fast. Look at all the shitcoins with huge market caps, and this one is still around 150 million. This train is about to leave the station.

Get with it.

Take note Lads, this is how you LINK meme with the Rank System!

why are you even here? Don't you get tired of ranting and going on about a project you don't see any current future for? Is it not exhausting? Go invest in bitcoin and give it a rest already. Go be happy. Shills gonna shill. Accept it and let it go. Ignore it.

absolutely man.
I really hope LINK makes us rich as fuck, I haven't seen such a good opportunity since the day I discovered bitcoin and i'm all innit since over a week.

Just buy a nano ledger, works great

We broke it 4 times last night.

This got me hard af.
