I don't know, I applied ED and got in, but I also had done a summer program. Your best guess would be to just have a really good gpa. I know if you want to transfer in from another school at CMU, you have to have a 3.6 GPA, and the average for SCS is like 3.1.

facebook. just get as many offers as possible and leverage them to increase your pay. go to hackathons (at one hackathon i got 3 recruiters giving me interviews on the spot. microsoft flew me out immediately, no phone interview). i did a summer at microsoft: avoid it like the plague. i hear amazon and apple are also shit. google/facebook are the easy ones. palantir and dropbox pay well but are slightly harder to get (i've heard working at palantir sucks tho, but its full of perks).
DONT DO STARTUPS. they are USELESS. its stupidly idealistic to say you want "the experience" and "impact." absolute underachieving garbage excuses for not getting a real internship. don't buy the meme.
to stay Veeky Forums relevant: facebook has a dope gym. whole building (19) dedicated to it. they also pay for ice time for hockey every week and subsidize gym memberships
