Early gym

I'll have to start going to the gym early in the morning, around 6AM bc uni schedule is kinda a pain in the butt. So, Veeky Forums, how do you deal with waking up and going to the gym still sleepy? Do you have breakfast? I've heard it's kinda packed around that time, not sure tho. Also any early gym related discussion is welcomed.

I'd have a small snack for breakfast, and maybe a cup of coffee. A little cardio when you reach the gym to wake you up. Works for me bruh

I bring my coffee with me to the gym and sip in between sets

Sometimes I'll read some articles or catch up on current events. Actually real comfy.

>6 am is "early in the morning"
Nigga I wish I could sleep that late.

I usually wake up at 4:30 am, take a shit and get dressed and go for a run/jog (what ever my training is for he day) then once I'm done eat breakfast quickly and get to the uni gym at 6 or 6:30. Usually only a few guys then 2 girls there but they leave after like 20 min Kek.

if you get enough sleep beforehand it wont matter what time you're waking up.

allow yourself to get 7-9 hours of sleep, wake up in time to have some coffee and head out.

If cutting: no breakfast
if maintaining: whatever you want
if bulking: always breakfast

Some people espouse the benefits of no breakfast before a workout but honestly I've just found that it means I get tired a little quicker.

i used to get up at 6am, shit, eat breakfast (oats +protein shake) and take a 200mg caffeine tablet, walk to uni gym, shit again, start workout at 7am, finish in time for 9am lectures.

gym was empty af, but probably depends where you are.

just try a few things and see what works for you. some people need more time to digest before working out

I do swiming at 6am and gym on the night. For breakfast I eat a banana or a slice of bread with honey and after Im done with my swimming training I have a propper breakfast. Dont eat something too heavy before workout or you might puke it later on between sets or while doing cardio.

>coffee

I just get out of bed then get dressed then put my shoes on and fill my water bottle then I'm out the door. The faster I get out of my house the less likely I am to go back to bed.

I wake up at 4:30 AM, take a shower, look at my weight/progress, get ready for the day (deodorant and baby powder on the balls), drive to work and start lifting in the empty gym.

What really makes this ideal for me is that I can frame my mind to be in the mode I need it to be to lift. I'm already fasted by the time I get there, so I don't feel heavy to do whatever I planned. I think about what lifts I'm going to do for the day on my drive. I see where I would like improvement during my morning routine. It's great.

Only issue is that I'm groggy until I get to work and take my pre workout. To be honest, i look forward to it because coffee just doesn't cut it anymore.

>TLDR: Working out in the morning lets you dedicate your whole focus to fitness, and pre workouts or caffeine in general is essential to not dredging the morning.

I pop a caffeine pill because I'm a degenerate.

I just wake up at 6:00am, walk 10ft to my powercage and do squat then ohp then rows OP.

Dont know what all this fuss is about going to gym early senpais.

>wake up 5am
>get ready for gym (shit, wash face,.. Etc)
>try to get to gym by 5:30-45
>gym til 7 at latest
>go back home
>shower n get ready for work
>get to work at 8
>eat my daily 2 hard boil eggs for breakfast

Dats it mang

4-5 days a week

It gets easier

I started lifting at 5am recently after thinking it would be impossible most of my life. Turns out I have more energy and better workouts in the morning. I just wake up and chug a pre workout or cold brew and go right away.

>Wake up at 5, eat breakfast and shower
>Leave at 6 to get to uni gym by 7
>Gym until ~7:45-8:05
>Head to first class at 8:30
Works for me at the moment

If you don't wake up at 2:20am ur not gonna make it

Was actually comfy as fuck but not worth it.

Wake up at 6 or 7 and go in the afternoon desu

No gym is busy in the early morning, it isn't worth it for normies, especially students, to wake up at 5am. Also shower at night before you go to bed.

>wake up at 5
>gym opens at 5:30
>lift until 7
>teach shitty undergrads twice a week
>think about killing myself until I'm done with research at 6-7pm
>repeat every day

Not if you drink enough water

i know that feel bro. I'm in my senior year as a chemistry and physics double major, and spend literally every waking moment doing research.

My only option is to gym at 5AM, but it kills me because i have problems eating early in the morning, and im dehydrated upon waking up, so along with those things and being tired my lifts are suffering. Fuarkkkkk school is such a gains goblin

what the fuck is that sleeping schedule

muscle confusion, gotta keep the body guessing when sleep is gonna come next

> water contains energy

What's your area of study?

A glass of water will help you wake up, but not because it contains energy.

Tell your roommate that if you refuse to get up, they have permission to pour cold water all over you

The few times I've had to go, I'm still leaving an hour after I've woken up. You wake up, groom, make some shit like oats, digest a bit, and then head off. And then do a scoop of pre-workout and blast some club music on the drive to the gym.

I have a little bit of coffee and watch some porn right before going

Same routine every morning, 5 days a week. Wake up an hour before I have to leave. Eat right away. Make lunch. Bike 40 minutes to gym. 45 minute work out, 15 minute shower. 2 minute walk to job. If I'm struggling in the morning, I push the workout to lunch break.

Anyone take their showers for the day at the gym?

>Nigga I wish I could sleep that late.
Just go to bed early.

I never understood about people complain about waking up at 4am... just go to sleep at like 8 pm.

No, I smell like shit if I don't shower so I have to shower before the gym and after the gym. Also my hair gets all fucking weird after sleeping.

sucks being fat

Getting enough sleep is the most important part. Getting up at 6am is easy if you go to bed at 9

During the summer, yes. I'm not going to the gym to workout with pristine hair. Now that school is back on, I usually workout after lectures or during a large gap if I have one, so now I have to do 2 a day.

>watching porn

Not gonna make it

Watching porn boosts test.

Preworkout wakes you up. Also go to sleep at 9pm or so if 6am is your goal. Try wake up at 5am. This is exactly what I am doing now.

Drink a lot of water when you first get up, helps alot
