Fit Hobbies

I quit video games and dont know what to do to fill that void. I spend most of my day on youtube and playing games and have no friends/family to hang out with though. Ill probably start programming more, reading, and working on my social skills and physical appearance.

What are some of your hobbies /fit?

Mma

>lifting
>drinking
>regretting drinking
>lift and drink more

Ive thought about boxing classes but I wear glasses and its not an option to not use corrective eyewear. Yes my vision is that bad. I heard contacts also get knocked out while sparring. Wat do?

Running
Mountain biking
Sports betting
Poker
Seriously man, if you want to work on being social get out and start exercising in public places. I've met heaps of like minded people doing outdoorsy shit. We have nothing in common outside of the hobby we do but that's enough to enjoy a run/ride

I bought an old motorcycle that I tinker with, expensive but fulfilling and fun.

I got over vidya and now just go to work, sleep and gym

starting some home diy stuff atm because there is just nothing to do

Why would you quit something that made you happy?

I tried cutting vidya out a year ago and realized i'd just be sleeping working and lifting with hours of nothing in between.

Just be productive man

collecting firearms

Most good boxing gyms won't have you sparring for a while, the first few months you tend to learn combos and technique as you're being conditioned.
It'd be a worthwhile experience to do it just to learn everything, even if you can't spar.
But I won't deny sparring is the best part and is where you are actually able to test what you've learned.

It doesnt make me happy though. Not hating on gaming, but its like I only do it because I have nothing else to do, not because I like playing games. Gaming just isnt what it use to be for me and a lot of my friends dont even get on steam anymore so I guess Im out too.

What are some hobbies that I could use to make friends? Im lonely pls no bully.

Going to a bar usually, if in college then take up some sort of club that interests you. If NEET then kys

I feel like everyone just kind does stuff to waste time. I cant find anything thats satisfying. Maybe life is just about wasting time.

Shit posting, drinking, cocaine & prostitutes. Also fishing.

Learn to play an instrument

Sounds dumb, but I'm rarely as happy as I was when playing in an Orchestra. Learning an instrument is recommended

Judo.

It is like CrossFit except you lift and throw people.

Are you me?

>I heard contacts also get knocked out while sparring

I doubt that is true

I realized that I mostly craved competition in video games. So thus, I have picked up sabre fencing recently. It's fun, competitive, and all-out awesome, and you even get the benefits of overall great condition and fitness. You can even wear glasses under the masks but contacts are more comfortable imo.

Piano
Cooking
Reading
Vidya
Lifting

I think I need to find more hobbies

Martial arts.
Firearms.
Growing your own food.
Hunting.

You can still play your video games once in a while, just don't play WoW when you get back from work/school for the rest of the evening until it's 2 am.

I box and can confirm. They do. I still spar with them..
>pic related, after last Fridays sparring. Both contacts got knocked off.

I need the LASIK surgery.

Writing, reading, playing with my kid, finding new sexy time things to do with the wife.

This board isn't for old boring farts. Fuck off crusty old faggot.

Not OP but wondering about this. I used to play trombone in high school but quit after graduation. I'm incredibly out of practice now and don't even have an instrument, but I'd like to get back into it. Do you know how common more beginner friendly orchestras are for adults?

Well done, user. I hope you're working out together with your wife as well, that would be the ultimate Veeky Forums utopia

Judo
Piano
Drawing
Vidiogames

She mostly does meme YouTube workouts at home.

You want a pure waifu? Lock that shit down early.

Meh, better than nothing.

Is she at least Veeky Forums?

run, lift, read, work, gf, porn, social vidya

Yeah I mean she isn't like a fitness model but she's kept up her body even after kid #1. She had put on a little weight (10 lbs) but we're going for #2 so she lost it again in rep for that.

Reading, cooking, gardening, fishing, homebrewing or winemaking

It's true, I was sparring the other day and it happened. It depends on how the punch hits you of course, I took some punches to the face without anything happening and then one to the eye took one contact out.

life is too short to spend your free time doing something you dont like, if you love video games then just fucking play games

I like hiking because I like knowing what the area I live in looks like

How do I get into homebrewing?

>tfw nobody has mentioned climbing/bouldering

Build robots, it's not hard these days with arduino and such.

Depends on your area, really. It's probably illegal where you are, because your laws are retarded and they don't want you to make high-quality low-volume brews at home, and they want you to buy from big corporations.

That being said if you're interested in whisky, there's a great book which can be found free on some sites called "Making Pure Corn Whisky - A Professional Guide for Amateur- and Micro-Distillers" that's a great read and very practical and hands-on.

I mean in my country we have a very long tradition of brewing our spirits so it's quite a common hobby to do. Most of us don't even buy commercial stuff because homemade is just so much better.

Gym
DotA
Movies
Meth and alcohol
Literally nothing else interests me and those things are the only ones that can fill the void inside. There may be more to life but I guess it's just not for me.

Because it is dumb

This.
And the things that are productive do not satisfy me either.
So i go and do stuff to pass time easy, like lifting and vidya.

I cannot find something thats both productive and satisfying...
Only my ex oneitis gave me that feeling

So this board is only for

Archery

why?

>It's probably illegal where you are
Only when I produce more than 200 litres per year
>That being said if you're interested in whisky, there's a great book which can be found free on some sites called "Making Pure Corn Whisky - A Professional Guide for Amateur- and Micro-Distillers" that's a great read and very practical and hands-on.

Thanks. I will check it out

are you both me?

I will live and die a gamer. I've been playing games since I first got my hands on a N64 controller. I quit playing games when I first started getting fit but life is too short to not be doing what you love.

I get home from work, see the grill for an hour or so, play games for a couple hours with my friends, then hit the gym. Do what you love, just always use moderation.

>stop playing dota early this year cause i just wasnt having fun anymore
>had put in over 5000 hours since 2012 or 2013

I legit still have a hard time finding what to do with myself sometimes

Pretty much this
>Drink
>Vidya
>Outdoor socialization venues
>smashing poon

Hiking/camping
Reading
Piano
Programming for fun

I just kind of grew with everything I enjoyed. Applying my interests to a hobby came very naturally.
Cooking
Guns
Music
Reading
Playing intramural baseball and soccer at uni
(still a little vidya but it doesn't hurt in moderation)
Just kind of go out there and put your balls on the line

I stopped playing video games a few years ago at the age of 21. Japanese games are dead and western ones were never as good.

Is it worth spending a lot of time on StarCraft if I've never played RTS games before? I only say StarCraft because that RTS stuff seems to be taken seriously. I assume it has gigantic amounts of depth and it rewards skill

>>Outdoor socialization venues

i want to do this, like going to live music shows downtown. but i just hate being around a lot of people and don't drink. i also have no friends so i'll always be going alone. i'm not really socially autistic, i can fake my enjoyment and blend in enough, but i can just see myself getting tired of the loud noise and people and going outside and just listening to the buskers in the cool quiet night. i went to a festival on my own once to try and socialize but there was nothing to do except sit / dance and listen to live music. it was so boring and i just ended up leaving after a 2 hours after i ate shit food.

so has anyone learned to enjoy being around people? i need to socialize to be healthy but i hate it.

play the original. the new one is dead.

SC2 is great. I played it competitively (top diamond) for 2 years. That being said, I think there are better alternatives out there (namely, not vidya but some other competitive sport). But that's the reason why I'm fencing now instead of SC2..

>Lift with gf
>Vidya with gf
>Rock Climbing with gf
>Magic with bros

We do Trials of Osiris because it feeds our competitive ticks

starcraft is dead as fuck and probably won´t come back until sc3

>2016 not playing dota

LMAO 1 kid

Philately master race.

I shitpost

I now go to normie hangouts twice a week. It's so fucking boring. Beach volleyball wew...boring yall all fucking suck and not athletic, bonfires making the same shit, same drinks zzz. Going over to house pouring shots watching tv/youtube/football doing absolute fuck nothing. Only one other person played football so everyone is just a groupie reeee. Being a social normie is boring as shit what in the fuck. I feel like half of these people fake it just to have friends.

>Contacts get knocked out
They don't

Cycling. Get a road bike. Get a pair of cycling shorts. Get some lights. Get a spare tube and learn how to fix a flat.

Cost to get started is roundabout $700 if you get a decent used bike.

Rollerblading master race reporting in, distance blade 1-2 times a week, aggressive/trick blade 1-2 times a week. That along with heavy lifting and for the first time in my life I have abs!!!

Martial arts (boxing, grappling, etc), archery, rock climbing builds core like a motherfucker, hunting, art (literally anything), dancing (feels amazing, you are literally expressing your Veeky Forums self, it is art of the body), writing (good alternative to computers) and acting.

I played a lot of SC2, wings hots and lotv. I reached master league but honestly don't start it. It will take you thousands of games to reach master and even then you will still realize you have huge holes in your play.

The competitive seen isn't doing to well, but echo chambers like /r/SC keep it alive. Finding games is no problem, takes like 20 seconds to find an opponent even at 3am.

I would skip SC2. The ship has sailed IMO. Maybe try SC1? It's being re-released and it has always been more popular in Korea, even since SC2 came out.

lifting
running
video games

rinse and repeat .... every day ... most days

Miming. It's the art that promotes the most physical fitness. No memeing. It's much more than pretending to do shit. Learning the proper breathing techniques and physical forms takes years of practice, and it gives you a strong, limber body and a clear mind. The way I explain it is that it finally feels as though the mind and body are in synchronicity. The best actors study mime. Plus you get to make your own masks out of leather and shit.

>cuck hobbies for 500, alex

I feel this

I have no interest in drinking and loud music or crowed places... Im more comfy with staying home and playing video games or whatever by myself.

tfw will probably never meet a qt who shares my lifestyle because they too r also at home being comfy

Jacking off.

Get a fucking job you worthless parasite.

I have horrific vision (nearly didnt get into the navy bc of it) and I just went without glasses when sparring and kept them on while doing drills and other activities that had no risk of em coming off

I brew mead. I don't even drink anymore, so I just give it to coworkers.

Ur but this gets old Free a while

Rollerblading is a really hard sport, you have to muster up the courage to tell your dad you're gay

wew lad, very creative. Never heard that one or or every variation of it.
