Just talk to her

I mean the fucken Daily Mail, m8? Aren't you fucken embarrassed? Peter Fucken Hitchens... Jesus Christ....

Really, this. You won't know which one you are until you try, but women will EXPECT you to already know.

You really think using game of thrones analogies is fitting for brexit? Do you think that wether the UK should be in the EU or not is arguing about where a "tiny slice" of of power is located? A tiny slice?

I hardly see how he parrots what conservatives believe when he's against what the conservatives do. Or what conservatives are you talking about?

Her voice is adorable
Too bad I can't absorb a single word of what british people say so I don't know what's this about

It was a pop-cultural analogy that wasn't very fitting, but that does not invalidate her entire view or her as a person. It's more than a tiny slice, to be sure, and she kind of drops the ball in not presenting or at least mentioning the Leftist oppositions to the EU that exist (and they do). Again, I'm in disagreement with her on this point but again it does not invalidate her entire view or her as a person. It's possible to diagree with people on lots of stuff and still enjoy their writings and agree on some stuff, or even enjoy being challenged by their writings; I myself am I socialist but enjoy reading Hayek for instance.

Sorry, conservative but right of Tories. He's sort of a "proper conservative" and doesn't like the Tories whom he feels aren't real convervaties. It's not uncommon, the "not conservative enough" sentiment on the Right. You have it in the US as well, with people wanting the Republicans to go more right-wing.

I've seen her more than once and she's not come across as intelligent. This was an example and I don't really think that just saying "well here she's wrong but sometimes she's right" is a good argument. Of course it's possible to disagree on some thing and still enjoy their writing if it's intelligent but she certainly doesn't come across as intelligent.

And of course leftists that oppose the EU exist, that should be the reasonable socialist point to take. The new labour aren't very socialist and the new tories aren't very conservative. I suppose I'm also parroting this subset of conservatives in saying this, or perhaps some subset of socialists. What he says doesn't get a very big voice in the media so I certainly don't mind him saying it, and from what I've seen he fares well in arguments which leads me to believe that he does have a standpoint of his own. Of course it's similar to people who agrees with him, that's generally how ideologies work.

Didn't say she "was right", just that I enjoy her work in the New Statesman. Not familiar with her other stuff, but the NS stuff is well-written and makes me think.

Being SIMILAR to what others say is not the same as parroting; my impression is that Peter parrots. Never found his arguments convincing, but he's a good enough orator.
