Can someone please explain the context of this meme (if there is any)

It’s about Tukhachevsky and Budyonny.

Tukhachevsky was a military genius who believed in a modernisation of the Red Army to motorized tank warfare. Budyonny was a conservativist who wanted Cavalry to be used in its place.

When you look at the Eastern Front, you relialize that everything bad in 1941 was caused by Tuchachevsky and everything good in 1941-1944 by Budyonny.

When the NKVD came to purge Budyonny, he drew a gun on them and telephoned Stalin, demanding Stalin call them off. Stalin complied and never mentioned it again.
This is why Budyonny was clearly far more alpha than Tukhachevsky, albeit a worse general.
