depends on what slackens when you do it. if you're good at bracing your core so your lumbar doesn't collapse while you're rolling out, you're not putting your spine under dynamic flexion. If you fold like a wet paper bag while you're rolling out, you're putting yourself at risk

A calorie is not a calorie and each macronutrient has different effects, true. If you're interested in performance etc you need to have your macros and not just your calories dialed in.

But in terms of just pure weight loss for the average individual, calories in/calories out is so close to being true that it's all they really need to know, especially to start off with.

You're trying to confuse the issue by bringing up cases where any calorie is a good calorie or every calorie is important like with obese people, starving people, and high level athletes.

But even then, obese people are given mostly protein to lose weight, starving people are given mostly carbs and fats, and athletes eat balanced clean diets.

Plenty of athletes don't eat balanced clean diets, especially in strength and power sports or weight class sports in the very highest classes (try eating 6000 or more clean calories a day). Or look at Michael Phelps' diet, literally the best swimmer on the planet. Pizza, pancakes, etc.

If you give an obese person a 20p 120c 10f diet instead of a 120p 20c 10f diet, they'll still lose weight at pretty much the same rate. Hell, give them a diet of pure carbs and they'll still lose weight if the caloric load is correct. Plenty of overzealous bodybuilders have proven that you can gain weight on a clean, high protein, moderate carb, low fat diet.

Starving people just need calories, plain and simple. Do you think they would starve if they were only given meat? Of course they wouldn't.
