Best Democracy in the world!

>Best Democracy in the world!
>300 million eligible people and you end up with this two freaks
So what exactly went wrong where?

>what went wrong
Jim Webb didn't win the primaries

Pretty much all the candidates were appalling.

Not enough people voted for Jeb!

The world's only true democracy is Switzerland.

>Lets vote Clinton because we'll get a female President!
>Lets vote Trump because I knew about him before his presidential campaign!

Yeah everyone voted for Trump because they heard his name before he ran.

It's the same reason Ronald Reagan got in

>best democracy in the world!

>literally is not a democracy

The absolute state of western political propaganda

Still begs the question why the American people end up with the choice between those two. Like there must be more qualified personnel for the job, but apparently it is not about qualification.

A third world rate democracy where the politicians with legalized bribes sneak controversial legislation through bills.

Which then begs the question how they managed to become worlds leading super power.

>how they managed to become worlds leading super power.
By having an uncontested hemisphere to ourselves and being able to profit off European wars over-and-over-and-over again.
WWII secured domination over the Pacific Rim.
It's not so much about superiority as being in the right place at the right time.

To be fair, it's a lot like 2000.

By settling a continent that got emptied out by disease before anyone ever industrialised there, leaving the natural resources untapped. And then being safely on the other side of the atlantic ocean while the biggest competitors destroyed each other in a war and lost all their colonies. And finally sabotaging latin america so it can never pose a threat to the US.

the heads of our parties do their own thing

And you knew nothing about their wars and crimes, right.

Same could have been said about Mexico, Gran Colombia, Brazil and to some extent Russia, but none of those countries really made it despite impressive land masses and vast natural resources.

Americans need to fix ther """""""""""democracy""""""""""", both of the parties are pretty mutch the same with a few differneces like democrats not liking guns and republicans not liking faggots.

Those countries are full of selfish shitty people is the problem.

representative democracy is the ultimate cuck form of government

Okay, now imagine that instead of two candidates for presidency, these people are two warlords fighting to become dictator for life. There, now democracy doesn't seem so bad does it?

i do but i literally don't matter

Obama actually caused the migrant crisis through bombings and supporting terrorists and bailed out the big banks, who makes this garbage?

And US Americans are all selfless little angles, right? C'mon, I'd accept some argument about colonial Spanish structures that were more intent to exploit and suppress the locals, but the good people meme kinda sucks.

It didn't happen at least 25 years ago.

Democracy doesn't seem that bad at all, just US "democracy" looks kinda like a joke.

Minnesotans voted for Jesse Ventura for Governor.

Californians voted for Arnold Schwarzenegger for Governor.

60 million Americans voted for Donald Trump.

In the age of mass media and celebrities, being a public figure helps. It's definitely a weakness in democracy.

Clinton's rigged both primaries. Because she had the support of the oligarchs. Trump's win and the Russian story may or may not be part of the Clinton/Democrat plan to kill the GOP for a generation.

Primary elections should be abolished. All candidates should run in the general election. Which is decided by instant run off voting.

Obama is something of a holy cow to American liberals so they won't criticize him for his fuck ups.

Jesse Ventura was more of a "lets see if we can actually elect him just for the heck of it moment.

Ahnold the Govenator was a special election replacing an unpopular democrat. while the state was in the midst of a financial and energy crisis. Was replaced by Jerry "moonbeam" Brown. who was governor in the late 70s.

I don't think you can discount the geography of the United states, or owning the panama canal.
Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, they're all large countries by footprint, but how much of that is dense jungle, tundra and sub arctic, desert and mountains, etc. While you can joke about the flyover country all you want but most of it is table flat with temperate conditions with a few rivers to cross, and mountains at either end.
Also American Imperialism extended to south america. You can't underestimate how much wealth of the north comes from the south.
As for Russia, it's not like they walk away from european wars without having paid a heavy cost for being involved.

Interestingly enough this seems not to be the case in European democracies but rather a uniquely American (and third world) phenomenon.
