Ethical issue, Should there really be so much gambling?

Depending on what state you live in, there are Casinos everywhere. Lottery and scratch tickets are in every convenience store. In Britain, Children are allowed to play slot machines.

Is this OK?

Nope, ban gambling.

Gambling is fine as it's an easy way to make a quick buck from the foolish and stupid but I would never do it.

Ban loot boxes!

>I'm a risk prone dumbass who can't be trusted to monitor his own finances so I need the gubment to step in and make it illegal to protect me from myself

When stupid people gamble away all their money they become a problem for the rest of society.

The mere existence of stupid people will always be a problem for the rest of society. Them mucking shit up is a matter of "when," not "if." If you're concerned with them becoming a problem then you might as well just put them in straight jackets and ship them off to institutions for the rest of their lives, because that's the only way for them to stop causing issues.

You can take away the institutions that prey on them.

The gambling issue has been solved ages ago. State owned gambling. Only the state is allowed to host gambling. If you ban all gambling it means it goes to the black markets, feeding organised crime. So the solution is to allow it but only for the state so those profits dont go to the criminals.

I really don't get why people gamble. My dad took me to a casino for my birthday once and after trying a few slots I got bored and just went to the bar. I think actually burning my money would be more interesting to watch

You mean like every fucking vendor in their lives? You think Walmart, Disney, etc. don't prey on the naive and ignorant? Phone apps and Facebook games are literally handcrafted to be as addictive to the lowest common denominator as possible. Stupid people will get taken advantage of no matter where they go. You'd literally have to stupid proof the entire world to get rid of all the institutions that can and do prey on them.

The number of Casinos should be limited, I think. When it was just Vegas and Atlantic city it was one thing, but now some states have casinos everywhere.

gambling is addictive

So is alcohol. And tobacco products. And sex. And eating. And shopping. And fucking Candy Crush. You're getting farther and farther away from the point.

gambling doesnt guarantee you get something

Neither does life in general. You know what does guarantee you'll get something though? Heroin. Guess that makes it so much better than gambling huh? Stop wishing for a world to protect dumb little snowflakes. It'll never happen.

yes, it's free markets, it's america

Only because you insist on helping them. We could just sell them to debtors and work them to death in factories making iphones. We don't have to help.

>Ethical

>Should

liberals fucked you beyond repair

>not rounding up the stupid and putting them into labour camps
It's like you don't even want a better world

Boy, you best know that gambling is a sin.

Gambling addiction is very devastating. I hope everyone realize it's up there with heroin with some people.

The Vegas shooting proves it's unethical.

Gambling addicts are generally people who think they're somehow more adult than video games players.

Honestly, I totally see the appeal of a life-changing lottery ticket turning you from poorfag to millionaire overnight, and I buy the occasional ticket, a buck for a dream.
I can also see (tho I don't share it) the excitement in risking big to win big playing roulette or poker, the sheer adrenaline of being ruined or saved by the fall of a ball, the draw of a card.
But slot machines and similar? What the fuck is the appeal of slot machines and general low cost low gain gambling?

I was following you until
>so the profit doesn’t go to criminals
Odds are that a decent number of criminals get money from state owned gambling

I don't like it. I try not to gamble.
That being said, I don't think that it should be illegal.
