The bar cannot physically leave the ground with a heavy load without your shoulders being above it

I do 1 day and have had good results so far.

It's not just your abs. Got to bring your shoulders down as well so your lats help support your spine. I'd also practice your hip hinging as well, it's possible that you're not sitting back far enough for your set up.
