DNA matches legends claiming the Irish especially came from the Middle east. Most Irish and Brits DNA matches that of people in Jordan, Arabia, and Iraq more so than other Europeans.
For example here, an Arab man, and Irish actor Colin O'Donoghue, facial features look extremely similar. I think it's interesting as it shows all that has changed from these proto-Semitics, is that their skin colour became lighter, facial features have remained largely the same.
Phenotype isn't genotype. You can find people who look like that anywhere in Europe or West Asia
Luke Reyes
In your view, is this history or humanities?
Angel Hall
That huge DNA discovery a few years back, showed the Irish are majority descendants of Middle Eastern peoples. Made huge news for a while. And due to the fact the Irish didn't mix a lot, they are probably the closest genetically and physically to ancient Mesopotamian ancients outside of the Middle east.
this, most likely. OP is too braindead to link supporting material.

>Cohane published The Indestructible Irish in 1968 in which he proposed that the Irish peoples were of 'Mediterranean origin’.[3] In the book he claimed that the original blood stock in England, Ireland, Scotland, and Wales is Semitic.[4] Cohane also published The Key: A Startling enquiry into the riddle of mans past the book claimed that before Egyptian, Greek, Phoenician and Carthaginian eras two major worldwide semitic migrations took place, Cohane believed that every civilization on earth had once been semitic he based his evidence on archeology and etymology

>Cohane claimed that geographical names in America have a Semitic origin.[8] >In 1977 Cohane published Paradox: The Case for the Extraterrestrial Origin of Man in which he claimed man is a product of interplanetary colonization (see Ancient astronauts).[11] >Cohane's controversial ideas were rejected by professional archaeologists and historians as "fantasy" and "pseudoscience".[5][12]
utter trash, the Phoenicians never traded directly with the British Isles and Ireland
Samuel Wood
This is a shit meme, kill yourself
Caleb Allen
precisely, the probability they settled there is virtually zero. The Atlantic Bronze Age system was an independent trading force and regularly interacted with the Phoenicians in the Mediterranean, or at least along the coast of Spain.

>Agriculture was introduced by Levantine like people to Europe >Wow guys we are part Arab!
Owen Baker
What? Wasn't it spanish/portuguese? Where the did you see middle eastern?
Jonathan Hall
The Atlantic bronze age influenced Sardinian swords as well and some were even found as far as Etruria, starting from the 11th century bc at least so before Phoenicians came into the picture
Adam Wood
Also I guess the used very large canoes at the time to travel those distances before the Phoenicians

According to Eupedia (armchair experts), the R1b people moved west from the steppes and their skeletons showed they had a lot of east Asian traits. They moved west to northern Iraq , picked up the cattle economy along the way, and their skeletons changed to be like their neighbours. One branch of R1b spread to Africa and pretty much look African now.

Are you implying there were no pre-celtic inhabitants?

Nope. British and Irish are NORDIC. However, the British are much more Nordic than more swarthoid-shifting irishmen...

Eupedia is full of dead links. Garbage shill site which contradicts consensus and doesn't even have an argument why do they reject it.

maciamo is a clueless monkey with agenda.

you keep saying this, but I haven't been able to figure out his angle.
could you clarify the issue, what is the agenda?
Eli Rivera
everything that can't be explained conventionally is automatically celto-germanic.
it's fairly easy to see once you spend some time reading eupedia and his work. his article about poland also says a lot about the person.

Current archeological data suggests that there was no Celtic invasion/migration to the British isles, or at least provides no evidence of it. The indigenous pre-Celtic inhabitants became culturally influenced by their interactions with continental celts, but they never had a population demographic change that made them ethnically 'celt'.
>In ancient times, what is now Poland was inhabited by a multitude of ethnic groups, including various Celtic, Slavic (in the centre and south-east), Baltic (in the north-east) and Germanic (in the west and south-west) tribes. well that's true mostly, though he should be saying proto-Slavic.
>well that's true mostly, though he should be saying proto-Slavic. he did it with Tesla as well. Tesla turned out be be M458, yet he's "Germano-Slavic" according to turdciamo. >is this the section you take into contention? yes, not telling everything is the same as straight up lying in this case. which he did on purpose, not because he didn't 'know'.

>The domestication of the horse in the Volga-Ural region circa 4000-3500 BCE, combined with the emergence of Bronze Age technology in the North Caucasus around 3300 BCE, would lead to the spectacular expansion of R1b and R1a lineages, an adventure that would lead these Proto-Indo-European speakers to the Atlantic fringe of Europe to the west, to Siberia and North America to the east, and all the way from Egypt to India to the south. From 3500 BCE, the vast majority of the R1b migrated westward along the Black Sea coast, to the metal-rich Balkans, where they mixed with the local inhabitants of Chalcolithic "Old Europe". A small number of R1b accompanied R1a to Siberia and Central Asia, which is why red hair very occasionally turns up in R1a-dominant populations of those areas (who usually still have a minority of R1b among their lineages, although some tribes may have lost them due to the founder effect).
>The archeological record indicates that this sustained series of invasions was extremely violent and led to the complete destruction of the until then flourishing civilizations of the Balkans and Carpathians. The R1b invaders took local women as wives and concubines, creating a new mixed ethnicity. The language evolved in consequence, adopting loanwords from the languages of Old Europe. This new ethnic and linguistic entity could be referred to as the Proto-Italo-Celto-Germanic people.

Also simplicistic bullshit, the Balkans were way less affected than less developed places like central europe or the british isles, the balkns still have a lot of pre IE haplogroups and are way more anatolian farmer like autosomically than steppe
Also the Cucuteni civilization ended because of drought and climate change, don't know about the vinca

That's a decade old, which is positively ancient. The most recent research makes it clear the Bell Beaker people completely replaced the existing populations in the British Isles including Ireland. Now whether or not the Bell Beakers were Celts as such gets into a lot of questions of defining Celtic identity, but they were the first Indo-Europeans on the islands.
