How many people here have even made “significant” gains? Like from where you started to now? I have literally a spare $100 to maybe spend and I have 0 coins to my name. I started with about 2000USD in 2011 with BTC. I wasted a LOT of it mostly at 3-500USD but still have taken out well and truly over 450,000USD . And that was when they were literally almost 10% of what they are worth now :) so that's enough for a lambo. But they are awful cars unless you want a quiver of useless cars like most rich people who can barely walk, let alone race or drive them.

I want a quite place to meditate for a year or two. But I also want to be able to afford a place for my close family to live in rent free in their minds.

it probably won't do you much. this is a 180 billion market, big money is already in. if you missed out on crypto the time to get in was in 2015 for bitcoin, and 2016 for alts. maybe if theres another multiple year long bear market, that would be a good entry, but right now you're either going to get single digit multiples, or you're playing with fire trying to catch that 20-40x.

Basically I wouldn't give a fuck to lose $170 so that's what started with. It was profit from a stock I had sold (so foreword, I had prior experience). Bitcoin was near $1800 at the time.
For the month of August I managed it tirelessly. At all times of day from wake to sleep and would get up in the middle of the night to trade with the chinese. The strategy was to hold half in bitcoin and trade the rest. I'd find a ticker with medium volume (1000BTC) and look for good trends. Scalp a few bucks, rinse & repeat.
I took some losses along the way. Biggest is ripple when I realized a 50% loss. I made that back in OMG, ADX and BNB.
Now I just hold pure bitcoin, passively. I make money to add to the bitcoin stack elsewhere because it's too valuable to lose. Keep in mind the value of btc is not the current market price, it's possibly ten times more if held. There is also this dynamic of prices increasing so fast it may be hard to acquire large amounts later so maximizing btc holdings now is what I'm doing.

The active part made me about 200%, the rest was bitcoin.

i did practically nothing. I got lucky with bitcoin and was mining LTC for ages when it went up massively about 2013 or 14? That made me a killing and i put it back into BTC. End of last year I bought XRP and ETH as a tip and that made me the biggest killing to date. Back into BTC and sat on it this year and am in tears with the price at the moment which I cannot explain. I doubt its because of gold and seems more like normie investment folk entering. as for portfolios, other than BTC and XRP I have a mixed mongrel bag of shitcoins , mostly bought due to shilling here . most have been bullshit, but chainlink worked. until now that is.
