deadlifts and deadlift variants hit traps a whole lot more effectively than barbell rows hit glutes, but i get the point you're trying to make - deadlifts are a whole lot of added stress just to train traps

regardless with deadlifts, deadlift variants like RDLs, and maybe some low rack pulls, your traps should be getting a good workout

add in some shrugs and you're fine

Just throw in Face Pulls, regular Deadlifts, and high volume/low intensity snatch grip deadlifts into whatever routine you're working now.

OP I started doing single arm cable shrugs. I highly recommend it, they feel fucking amazing

OP do snatch grip high pulls for volume and power cleans for strength.
Do it for a few months, you will get massive gains in upper back.
