Wyoming has a pretty good flag if you ignore the hideous, off-center state seal
...
Wyoming's is among the better state flags but it would be god-tier without that fucking seal.

I really wish communists would be creative with their flags and not just use wheat and tools
...
I know that's supposed to be a native symbol but it almost looks art deco
There's really not much else they can use that wouldn't be too "counter-rev" looking
Personally though I think they should use more cogwheels and stuff though.

>cogwheels and stuff
I don't get it
The upperleft-most breastick looks like a snake/snek.
This is way better than the current state seal
Well not in such an obnoxious way, more simple like the Imperial cog
holy shit is that what that is?
...
I think it was meant to evoke the SS Black Sun, and similar imagery. The Imperial uniforms were basically Nazi uniforms as well.
...
not to mention "stormtroopers"
that's basically the hawaiian flag, but without the union jack in the corner
...
How abotu this one then?
That's better, I think a single tricolor is an improvement over four, but having stars all the way down on the left and stripes on the right is too reminiscent of texas' flag, so maybe something like this with the stars in the corner.
The thing is that american blue and russian blue are different blues.
maybe this?
also almost looks like some germanic rune that could be used as a swastika variant if it had more sharp angles
I Personally like this because it looks so, orderly.
*Nazism Intensifies*
I don't like the repeated tricolor on that one but fewer stripes would make it look like colombia's flag. It is more visually similar to the U.S. flag than to any state's that I can think of, which is good.
Spain's designs for heraldry are usually appalling because they try to incorporate symbols from too many regions, kingdoms, and vassal states
I have never understood this, they look more Imperial Germany than Nazi Germany, Stormtroopers are also a WW1 thing and not a WW2 thing. Look at WW1 German Uhlan uniforms or simply most WW1 German officer uniforms, they look much closer to Imperials.

Brazilians are fucking weird but you have to admit that their flag is neat.
CRICKETING INTENSIFIES
Korean patch
Murray River flag.
Its my personal 10/10
It's an amazing flag.
This is indeed fantastic.
Its a badass eagle carrying the sun on its wings with an aesthethically pleasing kazakh embroidery design in the corner. It is all executed so well that it makes up for breaking to rule of being drawable by a 5 year-old.

Are alternate history flags/heraldry alright?

I like the Aztec symbolism but not the italian tricolor
this solves the blue problem, if you don't mind having different colored stars
Fresh OC.
Christ, this is why you don't design by committee.
The Imperial flag of Brazil was better
Yamagata Prefecture, Japan
Hiroshima Pref, JP
beautiful, the palmetto could also be replaced with any other state symbol for a whole set.
>implying any of the other ones were better
Looks like logo of a camping/hiking store
looks like logo of some tech company
All the prefecture and municipality flags look like Wipeout team logos. Still fucking neat, mind.
Might have to come up with simpler symbols for some states. A lot of state seals found on flags are gonna be hard to make out squeezed into that corner.
That's . . . actually a really good idea. Any requests?
doesn't necessarily have to be a seal, it could be many things. bear for california, buffalo for wyoming, saguaro cactus for new mexico, etc. One could also use state flags for states with iconic ones such as maryland, texas, and arizona.
I think it's cute.
>die you fucking egg blyat
FRIESLAND

Alright. I'll get on it.

It's an atom
Why did they decide to go with a bear pulling apart a nucleus?
The city (zheleznogorsk) is a major producer of nuclear energy
I believe Mexico had it before Sicily
