mew is not a "wallet" or a "site" that "holds" your money. think of MEW as an ethereum node that you could run on your computer, but that is instead easily acessible through the site. the site doesn't even do anything, when you load your wallet, it stays on your hard drive. when you hit 'send' for a transaction, tahts when your computer says to mew "we used your tools to create a tnrasaction, please broadcast this to the network".
