How did Arabs get as far as they did?

They come from a desert that was absolutely useless until the 20th century, had nothing really going for them, but once islam happened they exploded into one of the most powerful civilisations of that time. How did they do it?

Islam

Their two main opponents being reduced to post-apocalyptic wastelands helped a bunch.

>we wuz opressed
abrahamic obsession about martyrdom is fucking disgusting
you guys were a shithole because you were fucking stupid, deal with it
all your inventions were stolen from intellectually superior persians and romans
your religion was a copypaste of christianity modified to fit double digit retards more appropriately

same could be said of christianity.

Fanaticism can be an advantage but this can't be the only factor, or else ISIS would have conquered the Middle East by now.

greco roman and asian medical practices and teachings that came to them through trade. their tactic or military wasn't extraordinary but hygiene and medicine allowed faster recovery than their opponents plus the possibility to pay lower taxes if you converted rallied populations

>intellectually superior persians and romans

Dumb Indo-European poster

Both of those people stole their knowledge from the BLACK AFRO-ASIATIC Egyptians and Mesopotamians

This. Roman and Persian decline as they fought each other and ruined each others' economies. This allowed Arab warbands under the Islamis faith to fill in the power vacuum and bring city after city within its empire. The warband was also funded by conquest which forced Islam to spread. If it didn't acquire new territories and sources of tribute it was unable to pay its warriors. From the perspective of the conquered it worked pretty similar to Rome. Occasional atrocities spook most city states enough to submit once the warband shows up at your gates. Give in peacefully and you only need to pay a tax. Resist and die a horrible death while your women are sold as slaves.

>Arabs
Spain and half of north africa was conquered by islamized berbers

Useless desert?
>Sumer
>Assyria
>Akkadian Empire
>Babylonia
>islam, christianity, judaism are all based on ancient babylonian religion which based on ancient sumer religion, thus everything we have today can be traced back to those useless desert

Arabian desert =/= syrian desert

>we wuz opressed
>obsession about martyrdom
That's not what he claims, retard, stop projecting.

they barely touch syrian desert, also the population was not distributed to the entire country homogeneously, i mean cmon

Parthua and byzantium were weak as fuck at the time.
Arab population was exploding due to encouragement of marriage and centralizimed theocracy. Arabs had been used as soldiers and vassal states by both powers before and were familiar with their tactics political/military. Arabs had little to lose but their lives.

All were relevant factors.

iraqi desert if you want it that way then
even though it may as well all be the same, im referring to arabia specifically here

Because people living in the desert have hard times, and that creates strong men. Duh.

Too much focus on bling.

wut in many ways christian theology is far more complex than judaism

By that logic we should've had empires in Africa a long time ago.

are you retared? none of those empires were based in Arabia

>we wuznt emprahs

THIS

cumskinoids would still be cave-dwelling apes if it weren't for AFROasiatic scientists educating them. These melaninless monkeys should be humbler.

Arabia Felix (South Yemen and Saudi border) and Arabia Petrae (ironically Israel and Sinai) were probably the original power bases for the Arab conquests. Arabia Deserta was miserable pile of shit.

Not really. Africans didn't face much hardship until europeans came. Sure they had no civilisation and lived in mud hats but there was loads of food everywhere and not a lot of people to share it with. They had no incentive to stop laying on their asses all day.

While muslim chronicles were exaggerated (I mean the two Persian books weren't even eyewitness accounts and were written like a century after, IIRC), it was still a brilliant campaign by Khalid.

They were mongols of the desert essentially. There mobility and ability to assimilate the tribes of North Africa and exploit the weakness of surrounding empires at the time all came together to create the massive conquest.

It couldn't be said at all. Christian theology is complex.

I'm not denying that. Really, the Islamic conquests were one of those times in history where fucking everything went right for them.

So similar to the colonization of Americas?
>The only time in history where 90% of a population dies before you even know they exist

allahu akbar

Yes living in a sterile desert wasn't the problem, they're just too sandnigget

omae wa mou shinderu

There were pre-Islamic Arabian kingdoms

Go take your pills butthurt faggot

>How did they do it?
They were for all intents and purposes the germanic peoples of the east. What do you think would have happened if the germans were united in the same way and Rome was as weakened as it and the Sassanid Empire was at the time? It's hardly a coincident that the arab conquests started right after one of the most devastating wars the region had ever seen.
Oh and the arabs had also been relatively spared from the plague(s) that ran rampant over both the ERE and the Sassanid realm.

>plus the possibility to pay lower taxes if you converted rallied populations
Then explain how the muslims were still in the minority in their own realm centuries later.

Go to bed Montesquieu

The Sassanids and the Byzantines crippled each other and brought in many of the other nearby countries. No one was ready to fight.

Because Muslims had to pay Zakat and Kharaj, which could be more expensive than the lowered taxes. Also people, at least then, rarely switch religions for tax benefits.

That's just blatant doublethink

This, pretty much.
Had the Byzantine Empire and Persia have their best commanders and economy 6 feet under Islam would just have been some irrelevant religion in Arabia.

Had not*

>islamized berbers
This is a meme

>umayyads hire a local from conquered land as a general for diversity bux
>10 arabs lead the army of 300 negros and the 1 diversity negro gets credit for it

Fuck wewuzzing berbers

Heraclius was alive at the start of the arab conquests mate.
