Im really happy with how thicc my lower body is getting.

But my upper body is still twinkmode. How do I build serious mass on my arms and chest?

You need more upper body hypertrophy accessories. For me the following worked on top of normal 5x5 or 3x5 barbell strength training:

- Dips
- Widegrip Pull Ups
- Hammer Grip Chins
- Incline Dumbbell Flyes
- Dumbbell Neutral Grip Shoulder Press
- Dumbbell Lateral Raises
- Dumbbell Hammer Curls
- Dumbbell Tricep Extensions
- Dumbbell Chest Pullovers
- EZ Bar Bicep Curls
- EZ Bar Skullcrushers
- Cable Rope Pull Downs
- Lat Pull Downs
- Machine Flyes or Cable Cross-Over

Spread out over about 2 weeks of a typical MWF full body split with barbell strength training first.

It's a bitch load of volume though that I can probably only do as am semi neet. So most likely pick what you can and adjust based on what you can recover from.

Lower volumes are fine for lower body but not so much for the upper, in my experience.

Upper body, especially the smaller muscles, want volume and frequency.

So accessorise.

Add db variants with more volume.

Squats 4 x 5 Reps
Bench 4 x 5 Reps
Rows 4 x 5 Reps

Sets are not straight across. Use ramping sets with last set being the heaviest weight.
So if set 4 = 100 lbs then set 3 = 90% of set 4 (90 lbs). Set 2 = 90% of set 3. Set 1 = 90% of set 2. Do this for all the exercises.

Monday will be the heaviest day. Set 4 on Monday should be your 5 rep max for all exercises.

Wednesday is moderate day. Set 4 on Wednesday should be 90% of Monday's set 4, with all the weight from the preceding sets readjusted.

Friday is light day. Set 4 on Friday should be 90% of Wednesday's set 4.

Add 5 lbs to next Monday's set 4 and recalculate weights for the rest of the week. If you weren't able to hit 5 rep max from last Monday then eat more/ sleep more.

I've been doing this routine for a few months and I become Beary Stronk! Make sure you put mayonnaise on everything and drink chocolate milk with every meal. Leave aesthetics for the normie twinks. :)

Nope. It's thicc mode. Rugby mode is almost the definition of thicc mode. Strong and functionally good for sports while not being super lean.

Any beginner routine with some accessories is fine. Do it for 6 months to a year. Then pick an appropriate intermediate routine to get thicc. You don't really get thicc until intermediate progression.

Please help me Veeky Forums. I'm 6'7 285lbs down from 368lbs, but it's becoming a pain to lose more weight, I'm eating 2000kcal per day and I'm tired and hungry all day without losing much weight (I think it's because of my hypothyroidism that even with meds it's not going away)

Take it from a skinny dude. I have the opposite problem of tryna to eat more. Hypo/hyper thyroidism is very rare. Most peoples metabolisms are very close to one another.

Also, try eating twice a day (breakfast - light) and dinner (medium). No snacking. A persons body can survive 50 days without food easily. If you feel like shit, thats psychological and goes away. During the period of starvation you want to workout. Do not allow yourself to eat before you workout.

Thinking of starting 5/3/1 full body, full boring next week. Did the regular fullbody and liked it but find the simplicity of three exercises to be appealing. Thoughts?

I take meds for hypothyroidism but I think it's not working for my weight loss, despite the blood test pointing that it's working for my general health. At the moment I eat only lunch and dinner, trying to make something like lean gains, and I'm going to the gym everyday, doing PPLPPxx. But my weight stalled and I feel like I'm losing my time going to the gym without having any gains. I don't know if I focus more on losing more weight and feeling awful or try to gain muscle and hope I can be thicc.

Currently bench 315, squat 365 and DL 395 (all 1RM) but look doughy as absolute fuck - I estimate mid to high 20's% BF, but big in the chest and shoulders so it's not too bad (49 in. chest @ 5'10 or 178 cm)
Anyway, I've got the thiccness siccness now and want to get there. I've trying to find some info but the sticky and bodyrecomp aren't direct. Is body recomp as simple as eating maintanence for the weight and bf% that you want?
For the 5x5 of Texas method or whichever you choose, how many different lifts per workout? Squat bench row and DL plus accessories?
My grip strength is also trash because of a surgery, I have to switch to mixed grip on DL on anything higher than 300, how can I improve that? Are bigger forearms directly related to grip strength?

You feel awful because you convinced yourself that you do (srs). That feeling is all psychological. Also, don't expect fat loss to be linear. The curve for fat loss is more asymptotic and becomes harder to lose with time. You just gotta keep going. Cut down on your dinner and keep lunch the same. Drink alot of water (this is necessary) lift while starving. Don't eat for 10-12 hours periods.

It's leverages, mostly. My OHP and bench are 2/3 and my squat is 4, but my deadlift is almost bang on six plates. Long arms, long legs and a short torso make me a decent deadlifter, but less so at everything else. If he has short arms and a barrel chest, his bench will be phenomenal, but his DL will suck.
