How do I do that?

prop your foot against a wall, toes on the wall, heel on the ground, foot at about a 45 degree angle. straighten the leg and try to bring your hip to the wall. then bend the knee and try to bring the knee to the wall.
downward facing dog is a good one too.

I do Calf raises but that doesn't really stretch the ankle in the direction that would be useful for squats.

Yes. Calf raises help too, as long as you get a stretch. It's like RDL's. Do them with full ROM and they'll give a stretch and strengthen the muscles. And modern stretching techniques incorporate a lot of strength work in extended ROM's because we've found that being "stiff" and "inflexible" isn't really about having short muscles. it's about having muscles that aren't strong in an extended range of motion. So strengthen them at that end range, and you increase your ROM, and increase the ROM where you have effectively produce force.
No it's pretty basic bitch tier, but unfortunately, most people can't do it cause that's just how we live these days.

There are many people who have trouble squatting down due to poor ankle mobility. Everything that people in third world countries squat for (eating, pooping, etc.) are things that we usually do in a regular sitting position, instead of a squat. This leads to our ankle flexibility being severely limited, since we don't use it nearly as much.

I think just daily stretching is how to improve. Im in the same boat as you, im like one of the least flexible people i know when it comes to lower back and tight calves. I started doing daily stretching focused on that and im already improving after like a week and a half, you just gotta keep it consistent i guess
