When someone fails a rep that is below your working weight, how do you react?

I feel glad that I stayed consistent through injury and depression and kept incrementally improving to the point where I can easily rep a weight that a weaker person would fail, and I simultaneously hope that they continue to train diligently and leave their old limitations behind, as I have.

What exercises work the lower traps? On symmetric strength my upper/mid traps are in the low 80s while my lower traps are in the low 70s. I want to fix this imbalance

my only complaint is that since its 13mm all the way around and i wear it low when i bend over to do deadlifts or wear it too low when i squat it tends to cut into me when i lean over and leave some red marks

i bought a belt after i hit 3pl8 up until then i had done everything beltless but one day i decided to borrow the belt my old gym had and decided i needed one

i dont use my belt on my warmup except for the last set before my working weight because i like to get used to the belt

if im squatting kinda light i dont wear it at all

Onitsuka Tiger Mexico 66 are my go-to shoes. I have various jackets and coats I wear, but everything else stays the same. I wear Elvis glasses when it's sunny.

I'm 6'9'' with postural kyphosis but it's getting better. Just started hitting the gym again after a few years of not. I have trouble keeping balance at times doing front squats and cleans. I just heard about these powerlifting shoes. Are they meme shoes? I don't really have a problem keeping my heels on the ground, but it sounds like for taller people it can help. Plus $90 ain't much to ship out for.. I've just been using beat up sneakers for comparison.

Things I noticed and tips for myself:

-Should take a longer and deeper gulp of breath before going down

-Toes should be pointed out a little more

-Head should be pointed down a little so that a tennis ball could fit between my chin and neck (as per the book)

-Right side of bar is shifting forward while left side of bar is shifting backward while coming up halfway (evident in the bar path as shown in set 1 versus warm-up). I'm not sure where this problem came from and in my head I have the right cues in mind (mentally picturing a straight bar path, driving hip evenly while coming up). I did dislocate my left shoulder 2 years ago though. I had limited range of motion to a point it would be painful to rack the bar on my shoulders for a low bar squat. However physiotherapy fixed all of my pain and I don't feel any pain anywhere while making these videos. What's the problem? How do I correct this?

Let me know if my tips for myself are correct and please point out any errors in my squats that I haven't noticed. Thanks in advance!

Tomorrow is the start of week 5 and I am pretty excited to see what results I get, I had to deload on the first week because I had a couple weeks off.

I have Inzer Grippers and I like them. They get proper tight but they are identical(no L/R) so wrapping them can be a tiny bit annoying.

Competed in my first competition yesterday lads. Hit a 515kg total at 80kg bodyweight which I was a little disappointed with but I got on the board and won my class by default. Also qualified for nationals in this federation. Safe to say I've caught the bug, excited to start training again and fixing my weakness'

titan golds are nice and stiff, but i went back to gangstas as you can really crank them, even with 36 inch the titans make it hard to get a lot of coverage

Cheers man. Still unsure whether I'll go, I might try a different fed at a higher weight class just for more experience. I was head and shoulders above everyone in my class in terms of height

I hit 6/9. First two squats were easy at 170/180. Unfortunately they set the rack height too high for my last attempt at 190 and had to drop it down which kinda threw my focus off. I went conservative on the bench as I have gorilla arms and legs so I struggle with it. Hit 100, failed 105 (ass off the bench) and then hit 105. Deadlift went pretty well did an easy 220, an ok 230 and then decided to go balls to the wall with an over triple bodyweight deadlift at 242.5. Got it above knees but failed to lockout probably due to fatigue. I squatted my first attempt at like 11am and my last deadlift at 5:30pm

Yup I only competed in the 82.5kg class as I felt a little too soft at 90. In hindsight soft was good for my total. These things you learn I suppose so I'm looking forward to putting some weight back on

My friends at a PL gym want me to do a meet. Realistically I could probably get around 600 kg total in -105.

How do you lads prep for a meet? Thinking of doing my first meet in mid June(falls on a Sunday). Thinking of taking the week off prior with the last training day being the Friday a week back. More than happy to be told better.

I don't think it's a good idea to stop training completely a week prior. A better idea imo is to do 1-2 extremely light workouts the week before and do some singles at 50-60% 2 days before the meet. Lets you rest but the feeling of the lifts is still in your body.
