The famine was in Russia, Ukraine and Kazakhstan and depending if historians put them all together or count separately the number differs but the highest estimate has always been around 11 million. I don't know if those who say it say that it's supposed to be just Ukraine or not as I don't care about the number games. Between the period of Feb-October, it shows that he was probably the greatest political operator and tactical mind of the 20th century, I mean even on the Soviets, the Bolsheviks held like..3 seats out of hundreds and Lenin wasn't even that liked by his own party (he was considered basically a far-lefty anarchist by the rest of the party largely because of the April Thesis).

Lenin had some good theory and has written some good shit (State and Revolution) but he made the mistake of taking power away from the Soviets and workers to concentrate it in the hands of the party. He also shouldn't have brutally crushed Kronstadt rebellion. Basically, if he gave Soviets more control Kronstadt wouldn't have happened. He also allowed a nobody like Stalin who wasn't even in the October revolution to eventually become dictator of the SU.
