You forgot to mention that both Alexander and Philip are greek names,they spoke greek, recognized that they descend from a Greek dynasty and sought to spread hellenism outside of Greece. I don't understand why there's so much confusion over this. Greece wasn't a single city state in antiquity, it was a "catholic" hellenic culture.
