Who here fucked thyroid?

Who here fucked thyroid?
Life is suffering.

>born with hypothyroidism

it's been a pretty smooth ride honestly

When you get it in your late teens and discover it only after peripheral neuropathy kicks in in late 20s, its a different tale.

well yea i'm very glad it was caught early, seeing as I would've grown up to have been a literal cretin had it not been. is yours just hypothyroidism or hashimoto's?

learning about it now in med skool. shits fucked man, feel for ya

Hypothyroidism probably, still waiting on secondary confirmation. In addition to numb hands, painful shoulders, I also am losing the nerve that is supposed to push food down my guts from the stomach. This neuropathy is how I discovered really, and I hate myself for not getting blood tested every year of my life until now.

what meds are you taking?

levothyroxin/synthroid most likely

Nothing yet, but levothyroxin was recommended.
Also to stop eating chocolate and drinking coffee, both of which I am addicted to.

you hypos gain any weight?

Only love handles. Creating muscle is mission impossible.

Do you have to take this for the rest of your life, increasing the dosage as you go?

as far as I know, yes to the first, but as far as dosage goes I've been at the same for several years now. I hear that people who develop hypo/hashimotos later in life have a hard time getting their dosage right at first.

>stop drinking coffee
Whoever told you this needs to gas themself. Caffeine mimicks thyroid, probably why so many hypos have a coffee habit.

dessicated thyroid > synthroid

Synthetic cucks gtfo Veeky Forums

you mean like armour? how does that even work? how does it compare to synthetic?

Well my doctor said that, but he is mostly an old women specialist, so thats why I am going to get other opinions.
Not like my blood tests will come out different the second time, just to confirm things and get more doctors to confirm.

But he did specifically mention quitting coffee at all cost. I'll see what the other guy says.

Is this like hippie vegan thyroid?

it's basically thyroid hormone extracted from animals, typically pigs

The main difference is Armour contains T4 and T3, synthroid is T4 only. I think you can also get synthetic T4+T3 but I've never used it.
lol no it isn't vegan

>lol no it isn't vegan

I meant that it is something people take not because its more effective, but because its more "natural".
I don't care for such pseudo-ethics, I want a higher unit of health improvement per dollar.

So is it like the vegan drug, or is it a legitimately more efficient drug, proven by peer reviewed academic studies?

is juicing a bad idea for people with hypothyroid?

is dosage pretty much the same as synthroid? also what's the storage life for it like? I've heard synthroid's is somewhat short

Are thyroid issues heritable Veeky Forums? My mother has thyroid issues and I've noticed some of the symptoms like depression, fatigue and dry skin apply to me.

Got diagnosed with hypothyroidism at early age. Been on medication for most of my life. Does this effect gains in any way, now that my blood levels are stable?

Not a doctor, but my mom has hypothyroidism and both me and my sister got it at an early age. Worth getting a blood test.

mine's swole AF but doesn't work fine
I take no drugs and will not.

thanks senpai

>Worth getting a blood test.
and an echography for nodules

The blood test is cheaper, and it shows the antibodies.. The echography is for after you confirms those are out of normal ranges.
In some countries you need to do them in that order for the socialized healthcare to pay, since one costs more than the other, and of course the state prefers paying the cheaper one first, in case the more expensive one isn't needed.

I've got it checked for a decent price
>here in France
>and got my money back

Thyroid cancer checking in. No more gland for me. 5 years out from my first surgery. Synthetic metabolism is a wild ride, my friends.

Old guy checking in here, 150mcg Synthroid. Was a bitch getting dosage correct. Changed my life though for sure.

so thyroid is proof that calories in < calories out is a myth

some people just can't lose fat no matter what they eat.

>underdeveloped thyroid
>literally 3 times smaller than it should be
>managed to lose nearly 30 kgs in ~6 months
>making steady gains
You fuckers just make excuses

I made blood test for different thyroid hormones and my anti-thyroglobulin autoantibodies are 238 (should be less then 18). What is it? What to do? All other hormones are normal.
Also I'm skinny guy 178 cm height and 60 kg, always struggling to gain weight.
