Injuries thread

What is ailing you?

Ask questions about form or recovery times and exercises to rehab injuries.

I am pretty sure I strained my teres minor doing bench press.

Does this indicate weakness in my shoulder stabilizers? I have been neglecting focusing on rows and lat pulldowns and working delts specifically so I suspect it happened because of a weak back and shoulder stabilizer as a result of neglecting lifts like an idiot.

chronic patellar tendonitis of my left knee. Had surgery on my right knee after football season to take out a bone spur from Osgood-Schlatter disease and to clean out scar tissue and feels like I have a brand new lease on life at least for my right knee. Wish the same was s done on my left knee. Saving up money to take care of it now that I'm working

Glad that you have improvement.

I have osgood schlatter in my right knee from playing sports and running 24/7 as a kid and teen. It seems benign besides the discomfort of kneeling on it.

What was the recovery like and how long? If I have to have surgery to mend it eventually I don't have a clue what it will be like.

Good luck with your savings and hopefully you can see the same results on your left knee.

Army fag here. Did a 12 mile ruck march in the field and woke up this morning to a swollen ankle

:(

Broken arm and nerve damage

Muscle spasm in front left side of neck from yawning too hard or something.

Should I take a week off?

I got tased today at work and now I have a couple pulled muscles. How do I heal as quickly as possible?

lower back hurts

Is Osgood schlatter a big deal? I'm getting some knarly pain beneath my knee and like you i was busting my ass all day every day as a kid.

Anterior shoulder dislocation x2
Shit has me going paranoid over it slipping out of the socket again.I'm afraid of falling to the ground, afraid of OHP,afraid of benching, afraid of pullups, afraid of most sports that involve some kind of physical contact

Shit sucks yo

I've had this, do you drink allot of coffee?

Muscle imbalance in my back due to years of bad posture, currently trying to correct by doing dumbbell work instead of BB. It's taking time off my progress but it's worth it for sure.

Also recovering from a fucking broken wrist, speaking of things that took time away from my progress. Getting better slowly, I can do some dips again but still can't comfortably do pushups.

>golfer's elbow
>shoulder impingement
>sacroiliac joint hurts when strain is placed on lower back
>quad still hurts sometimes from when I tore it years ago
is it time for me to retire from lifting?

Yes. Quit while you're ahead and just do calisthenics or something.

I can't even do that right now, pull ups are how I developed my golfer's elbow and push ups would aggravate my shoulder impingement

Sciatica pain from piriformis muscle issues. Can't squat, feelsbadman

Right lat, right extensor carpi ulnaris, and right deltoid.
Been going too hard, so decided to take a week off to fully recover...feel like shit, haven't been to the gym in 3 days.

>Do heavy low Rep deadlifts for a year
>One day decide to lower the wight and do about 5-6 reps for about 7-8 sets.
>Back is fucked for two weeks.
>Don't deadlift for 6 weeks.
>Go back to heavy 1-3 Rep range deadlifts lower back still hurts.
What happened bois?
I'll provide more info if need be

I've had acl reconstruction on one knee with a hamstring graft. It gets sore from running and occasionally I get sorry near the patella which frightens me.
My shoulder click sometimes when I do ohp, probably rotator cuff issues, working on that.
Shin splints like a mother fucker since I'm getting back into running.

Baldness.

Strained wrist.
Holding mitts for a big guy
>for you
who didn't know how to throw punches/been a long time since I held mitts. He kept hitting off center and cranking my hand around. A nice solid ligament strain. No punching or lifting for a month.
Pic partially related

It's literally only tight muscle pressing agaisnt your nervus ischiadicus.
Stretch it

okay, i have had this problem for the longest time and I have no idea what is going on:

when i do situps any kind of hanging ab exercise, as i lift up my left leg it feels like the joint pops. every. single time. i lift up my left leg. BAM. popping feeling right where the bong connects to my hip, right near the groin.

any advice?

**bone. my mistake. right where the bone of my leg connects to my thigh, it pops like its going to dislocate

That's the sexiest woman I've ever laid eyes on
>ywn beary your face in those breasts

Lower back was killing me after yesterday. Was front squats, ohp, pendlay rows, rack pulls then chin ups. Just went and cycled for 90 minutes and my shit is feeling really good. I think it just flushed all the lactic acid out so feeling good.

Left forearm feels like its going to physically snap in half when I curl. Doesnt happen for any other lift or the other arm. Diagnosis doc

Can't move my neck to the left without it being sore. Don't know why it happened. Didn't feel anything then woke up at 4:00 AM with severe neck pain

Sciatica... left side. Sometimes makes my left nut ache.

Chronic sinusitis from allergies. Minor but drains my energy and will to live.

After doing heavy rack pulls with proper form, it feels like someone is stabbing my upper spine

What do

Does this sound like what you have at all?

Constant tightness in my quads and hip flexors. They pop like crazy and always bother me. I've tried regular stretching but it doesn't help a ton. Any ideas?

My hip flexors are arching, Been doing lots of squats, cardio and ab stuff. I think that's the cause. It is killing my cardio.

bottom up zercher squats

i had really bad hip impingement from back squatting too often and too heavy, I fixed it by doing zerchers and never doing the same squat variation twice in a row, but really bottom up zerchers let me pop it back in place and feel "right" when regular squats feel wrong.

Not so much an injury but I just went through 48 hours riding out a case of food poisoning. Probably the worst discomfort of my life.

First day back to normal but still far from 100% I wanna do some "light" lifting but don't know if that's a good idea. If anyone's been through this shit before, how long did you wait it out before lifting again?

Thank you so much. I'll try them out next leg day.

Wait until your poops are solid and you can keep food down

Aching like a motherfucker from wrestling training. Whats a good recovery routine

Yes, that was the same with me and just my body not catching up to the growth as well. It hurt a fuck ton growing up and a lot of goods thought I was weird and the teachers said to stop bitching. The recovery was about 6-9 months before I could even do any type of real PT. The PT was hard and painful because you're pretty much training your leg muscles especially your quads how to fire off again and properly. But everything is right as rain and stronger than before. Had the surgery back in 2012 before I had private try-outs with the Bills and the Raiders. Obviously didn't pan out cause I'm not playing for them, but I'm enjoying life a new! Hope this helped out! Good luck!

I mean can you tolerate the pain. There comes a point where you really cannot handle it anymore and then you just have to stop doing the thing you love most. That's the hardest part man. I would get it checked out if I were you.

get rekt :^)
that's what you get for keeping your basic issue boots you cheap kike

Trap sprain from OHP.

Go see an ENT. You don't want to fuck around with sinitus. You might have more problems than just allergies if it drains your energy.

Hey guys. Fatty here.

I asked this a few times but never got an answer. I noticed this before about a few months after I started working at UPS. My arms would randomly feel like blood was being restricted when I sat in positions that I always have. Now I'm noticing it again after having started lifting again. I'm thinking that it's my new muscle restricting blood flow because it's pressed up against my forearm. Is this possible or is something else happening? It's mostly when I'm at the computer and I have a short desk so my arms are kinda tucked at acute angles. Never happened when my arms were pure fat.

Took a little tumble while mountain biking and fucked my shoulder now even pushups hurt.

Broken pinky
Out the gym for 5 weeks
How much gains am I going to lose I'm about to kill myself

Curious what someone who knows kinesiology thinks. Have asked doctor, chiropractor, biology professors about this.

A year ago I was playing soccer (lifetime player) and strained something deep in my inner thigh. Battled it for awhile, took several months off of lifting. Now I can lift legs just fine, but can't squat or deadlift. I do leg press and SLDL instead, which don't cause pain.

Anything that requires stability "in the hole" causes debilitating pain on my very inner thigh, see pic. More of an ache than a sharp pain. Also, when I flex my thighs together, there is a click and then pain.

Any ideas?

Too much tension due to amount of volume duribg those sets. Muscle is saying i need a break.

Take 2 weeks off doing any back.

You have to let it heal. Skip gym for 2 weeks and go lighter weight when benching

Happened to me twice, pulled neck muscle. Dont put any strain on it for 2 weeks and constantly put ice bags on it.

Also do neck stretches before work outs.

Weak heart, do more cardio to strengthen blood circulation.

Get physiotherapy, to loosen the muscle. You cannot replace compound with isolations

I have ankle pain on my dominant foot that only flares up when I run or walk, and when I wake up in the morning

It's been a couple days now, how much longer should I give it a break for?

my left wrist keeps getting fucked man. every time it heals it gets fucked. always from deadlifts. I am not sure why. I don't even go heavier than 1plate because of that shit. I still power through though, fuck it man

Really? I did 3/7/2/7/2/7/3/2 running just 2 hours ago. the 7s are jogging, the first 3 and 2s are walking and that last 2 is me running as fast as possible. It could get better, but it's certainly not a shite heart.

Torn my right acl just recently... Rip leg days...

ive got a numb patch of skin directly over the center of my back and if im standing or walking for a long time it starts to ache underneath.

did an easy-as-fuck "urban hike" this morning
before work, pulled a calf muscle, no idea how,
limping all day like an old man, wat do?

lonelyness

Aw shit bruh.
I'm fucking sorry.
But if you get a good knee brace and retrain yourself you can sort of work around having a torn acl.
You just have to be UNBELIEVABLY careful when lifting.

dem chicken leg gainz!

I've got lower back pain from doing squats incorrectly because my stomach flaps get in the way.

I've gone to PT, they didn't help it at all. I have still made good progress with leg press and SLDL, but I do realize that the stabilizing muscles are weak af.

Hurt my fucking right wrist two weeks ago and still haven't recovered. It only pains me when I lift something heavier than a few kg, so I don't notice it during the average day but my gains are slowly leaving. How can I recover more quickly?

Fucked something up in my upper back today. Only hurts when I breathe in deeply or do thoracic extension weird. Feels like it's right on or underneath my right scapula.

Gonna see how it feels in the morning, but as long as it's just a muscle thing I shouldn't need a doctor, should I?

Cheers bro good knowing that. Currently doing physiotherapy and gonna see an orthopaedic specialist... Not too keen on the whole surgery option though.

I'm pretty sure I have APT and a weird spinal bump at the base of my neck from over a decade of neetdom.

;_;

Did it "pop"? Or did it just start hurting?

If you heard a "pop" sound, you may have a disc herniation.

Ride a bike. For real.

Someone please respond, would be much appreciated.

Did front squats and bench on monday. 245lbs 3x5 for both. Never had problems with my shoulder before, but now, when I raise my arm out sidewar so my elbow is level with my shoulder and attempt to rotate towards my ear, essentially the motion done in this pic but not lying down and without the weights, I get a sharp pain in the front of my shoulder.

What the fuck did I tear? It feels pretty fine if I do an overhead pressing motion or a benching motion, strangely enough.

A broken heart, really don't know how to fix it..

I haven't had a left hand pinky finger for a while and recently I've noticed my entire left arm lags behind my right. apparently your pinky is really important and it's killing my barbell training. Is there anything that can help?

next time you see him stab him in the parking lot

Hamstring tear and high hamstring tendonitis. Both conditions of 5+ months. Im nearly at the end bros.... nearly

Patellofemoral Chondral Flap.
Not quite sure what it means.
My ortho said that the cartilage under my kneecaps is damaged.
Haven't had a leg day since november.
>Squat and diddly were my strongest lifts
>Feels bad man

I pulled something on the left side of my lower back getting off the floor while doing some diy and it hurt. Two days later my whole lower back is really stiff and sore, I have no mobility at all I can't bend at the waist, twist or squat. It wasn't spine related so what the hell have I done?

I've got shoulder instability that I'm waiting to get keyhole surgery to fix, this means OHP and Incline bench are out for me because it will re-dislocate. Should I just stick to bench or is there something else I can alternate with?

Can anyone help me.
My ortho only gave me some silly physio work and a strange looking knee brace and advised avoiding leg intensive work for 6 months

>Ignore the professional and listen to randoms on the internet
>Shart in mart detected

An hero

I have an insane rash/itchiness outbreak right now.

Came on suddenly today, but I haven't changed my diet or anything. It's fucking mind-numbing. Literally every part of my body is itchy even my eyeballs. I have massive red blotches all over my body with white lumps in the middle of them.

Somehow pulled a muscle in my neck while doing chinups. I was pretty pissed because that was my second set and my first assistance move. I had to cut my workout short because it hurt like hell.

My right biceps feels pretty weird when I try to flex it. It just came out of nowhere, I don't remember it happening because of a workout.

My wrist still occasionally hurts from when it got stuck between the safeties and the barbell when I lost my balance while squatting.

>wearing tactical gloves during a fast march
