I plan to transfer to GT after 1 or 2 years from UGA if possible. I got deferred Early action then eventually rejected regular decision.

I'm contemplating doing the REPP GSU Perimeter College (CC) to GT guranteed transfer program, but I don't know. I really like UGA tho. And I'm not sure if I want to spend my first 2 years in a community college. I'm conflicted.

I'll make sure to take a pic for posterity. 5 dudes said they were showing up in the thread last night which means we might have 2 including me

Had the same thoughts, trust me I learned it's better to go to a college with a harder curriculum. Shows that you're up to snuff with a pace slightly below their own if you end up with fantastic grades. And getting on the good side of a great college like UGA gets you places and words of recommendation will weigh heavier.

I applied for accounting at UGA. I'm probably gonna switch it to CS or CSE at orientation. I'm considering transferring to GT. But if that doesn't work out, UGA is still a great school to get a degree from, plus that hope/zell money.

|And, I am hesitant about rushing. I heard the IFC fraternities don't really rush minorities like me (I'm South Korean and 5 11 if that matters). And I don't really want to be in a multicultural fraternity either. (the people in those asian fraternities look lame af, my friend showed me the fb page of those poeple.)

Will not being part of Greek Life have any effect on social life? I plan on joining an intermural sport like Track & Field which is what I did freshman year of HS. So hopefully intermural sports (and maybe weightlifting) will help me find a social group.

Yeah they did a really good job with the co rec. When I was touring the college i just thought "oh, another gimmick that i'll probably be too busy to even use" but actually I would literally live there if they had beds. Its way better than my dorm.

My brother is a in a fraternity at UGA, I was in one at LSU.

Certain fraternities (the ones considered top tier mostly) are pretty much strictly white. But not all are, I had asian friends in some other ones and Ive met some at UGA also. Youre not black so thats good, if you were black I would tell you to not waste your time.

That being said if you decide rushing isnt for you thats ok too. You will meet ALOT of people in college. I spent half my time living with non-greeks and the other half with my pledge brothers.

I would say go through rush and at least see what its all about. Go to FRESHCO if you are really interested in rushing. Most of the fraternities at UGA do their rushing during the summer of FRESHCO.
