WH had longer lances than infantry pikes

why is it cool when the samurai do it?

WE REMEMBER

what exactly was the point of having the wings?

I never quite understood that part. You cannot with one arm hold a lance longer than with two arms. Yeah I know it was hollow and shit (nice idea desu) but still. The best explanation I could think of is that pikes at the time had become shorter (because the typical cavalry it would fight against would NOT have hollow lances) and they never adapted to them, preferring to use field fortifications and firepower instead.

THE SEPTEMBER

I literally googled pikemen, downloaded and posted the picture without changing the name, jesus christ, chill.
