it will teach you

be a dumb fat latino guy and talk about social justice all the time

Uh oh... someone got a 3 on the APUSH exam...

Bring up white slavery, how imperalism did more good than bad and how socialism doesn't work.

I'm not sure how getting certified works . My degree is cs and I'd like to get certified for that but also for history because that's my other academic love.

I'd like to do us history. Really enjoy that but my only real official documentation for it is that I got a 5 on the ap exam.

sorry, but shouldnt you like google this or something?
I want to ay you need to get certain regonal credentials, but I don't want to give you crap advice, whereas I'm sure there's a wikihow on this exact thing

You should have majored in History Education if you wanted to teach History so badly: teacher education programs ensure your certification upon graduation, granting immediate marketability. I applied for my current position during my final semester of student teaching.

Learn to work around the curriculum, use creativity. Be very open with the limitations the state puts upon you, but let them know that it's for a reason: the state mandates a specific average orientation of it's citizenry. You can let them know that, then transcend those boundaries by offering a fun lecture (within the time constraints, and ACT worries), and encourage outside research. Read about the community you work within, whether it be a suburban HS or city. Use a variety of teaching strategies, whether it be tactile or auditory, etc. Don't be inauthentic "whatever that mean", and just be yourself.

Ignore the set curriculum as much as possible, just get the kids interested in history, show them all the cool, fun and interesting things.

If you give them passion, they'll do well on the tests, much better than following the set teaching.

Even within the curriculum, you have leeway on what to pursue (I am speaking of the Michigan curricula), you have so much leeway within the framework of the curriculum. But you will get fired if you don't meet certain standard grades that the state requires, so you have to be pragmatic. I believe that you can unlock a kids curiosity, and if you can "transcend" the limited, mechanical scope, students can smoothly make their way through state test. They need to develop a love of knowledge, not see it as a chore.

In the UK its much stricter and boring. I hated history until we did WW1 and WW2. The Tudor dynasty is not interesting to children.

>The Tudor dynasty
Kek I was all about that shit in the 7th grade. Presentation is key.

are you Op?

But it wasnt even the military or the wars or any information on the period and life back then, it was JUST, THE, DYNASTY.

The teacher might as well have taught us her family tree.

Once we switched to the alcoholic depressed rugby teacher for history instead of the catholic crazy irish Religious teacher, it got much better.

no

All valid points

Don't teach anti-white propaganda and teach real history. Don't shy away from injustices, but don't act like eveyone else dindu nuffin. There, you're better than 99% of all high school teachers (propagandists).

Especially don't make all the blonde hair blue eyed kids stand up and say, "Hitler would have killed everyone sitting."

What is anti-white propaganda?

I would assume anti-white propaganda is taking the time to place contemporary ethics onto historical time-periods. History is about critical thinking, not ideological masturbation. You may be right, but why let bias skew your curiosity, just look at history without a side and come up with the concrete reality.

You can't look at things in an unbiased way, the fact that you think there anti-white propaganda is already a bias.

What he means is: strive to remain unbiased. It's difficult, but certainly attainable.

Well you can at least attempt to be unbiased, within human constraints

>it was JUST, THE, DYNASTY
she wasn't allowed to mention the juicy family drama at the very least?
that's fucking stupid, especially in the UK of all places

Don't forget to talk shit on the military in a country that pretty much venerates the military unconditionally

Be Dan Carlin, but live

1) Europeans = the most evil people on the planet
2) Holocaust = the worst thing ever, do NOT doubt any part of it
3) Allies = best guys ever (but then immediately bad because they are white)
4) Slavery = just a white thing and the reason Haiti is a shithole, but also Haiti isn't a shithole, it's a good island going to college
5) midterm tests
Easy

This will be you in a few weeks Op
