There was a page on the book that said that omega-3 fish oil pills are a hoax and that animal products have trans/saturated fat so therefore we shouldn't eat animal products.
fish oil causes prostate cancer in men
:(
So which ever belief I stand on is true/good?
It's good if you want to be autistically precise about your micronutrient levels. You could also take the $10 you might spend on that book and buy a decent multivitamin. Your choice
Solid bs
Better check the Google talk. That fucking book is like 700 pages of studies
Dr. Greger should have stuck to curing colds. Failure. Book is shit.
>Is it bs or solid?
It's both, it's solid BS
>Michael Greger, M.D. is Director, Public Health and Animal Agriculture for HSI.
no bias there
Do not listen these faggot OP, this is some real shit. Take a look at some of the vids he mad and make up your mind.
Nobody is talking about being autistically precise, and multivitamin are not as good as eating your goddamn green.
look at the website one of the authors runs OP, it looks like good science, then the vegan talking points you see every day in the "meat eaters BTFO" type threads start showing up. If you really want to get a fitness book get a new copy of SS or something, at least it'll be more helpful.
About halfway through it and it's pretty hard to refute so far; plant based diets prevent a lot of major diseases and meat based diets can help cause them. I think this may upset a lot of people because it's inconvenient as we all currently eat a lot of meat and it's ingrained into our western cultures.
I don't think I would ever go vegan but I have reduced the amount of meat I eat to a couple of times a week and I do feel good.
Definitely read it yourself and make your own mind up.
It is impossible you just die anyway.
Seriously, I'm very concerned about health and try to cut processed food and animal meat (very expensive where I live) but don't go too far away. You probably never got real sick, it helps remembering that you just die anyway so better enjoy trash food/porn/drugs/whatever here and there because you just gonna die anyway.
...
I hate that "animal products have trans fats" meme. I've witnessed it grow from idiots assuming there must be SOME trans fats in everything surely, probably trace amounts right?
Fucking stoopid.
Is that Alex Jones' brother?
im gonna live forever im already working on cure for aging myself and also donating to other heroes
We all dead m8.
The absolute best you can hope for atm is a cure for alzheimers, brain cancer etc and to have a working head transplant.
If we merely extend life by a lot more I predict we'll encounter the new end of civilization due to novel economic problems. In that case you better hope you live a thousand years or so.
He doesn't say they're a hoax, just that they aren't as impressive as we initially thought. Their use for preventing heart disease or depression isn't well supported although but it may have a slight benefit for brain health in the elderly, which is why he recommends omega-3 from algae-based sources.

It is pretty good website and the amount of research involved is impressive. Here's how the site works

Unfortunately, some foods have been turned into sacred cows. The second you make any kind of criticism towards meat, dairy products, or eggs, no matter if it's justified, some people will shut their mind off and reject everything you say just because the very idea offends them.
Funny how on a topic like fish oil he shits appealing to health organization recommendations and selectively cites a negative meta or two while ignoring criticism and other metas that chop up the data differently and get contradicting results, but with something like saturated fat becomes totally complacent reasoning in the exact opposite manner. So systematic. Such neutrality. Much evidence-based.
He also recommends that vegans take omega-3 supplements from algae. Toppest kek
So yeah obviously he is incredibly biased. But he is right about most the things that the scientific mainstream agrees on anyway, which is to eat mostly plants and limit meat, cheese and eggs.
Lol this. Carrying the dead weight of millions of octegenarians is what is killing the west but nobody wants to talk about it. Trying to live past your usefulness is the height of selfish cowardice.
Basically eat less meat/animal products and eat more greens. Which is kind of common sense. More and more studies are coming out highlighting the detrimental health effects of eating a lot of meat/animal products (feel free to google). For whatever reason there is a knee jerk reaction to this claim (never backed with evidence), and people totally freak out. People just love their meat, and nothing is wrong with that, just accept its not as healthy as we've all been told from childhood
> But he is right about most the things that the scientific mainstream agrees on anyway, which is to eat mostly plants and limit meat, cheese and eggs.
VERY GOOD GOYIM
If
>that animal products have trans/saturated fat so therefore we shouldn't eat animal products.
then , it's shit.
This
>The second you make any kind of criticism towards meat, dairy products, or eggs, no matter if it's justified, some people will shut their mind off and reject everything you say just because the very idea offends them.
People aren't getting offended, those criticisms aren't justified and are bullshit and keep on using the argument done to death in these types of threads. Shittily interpreting studies and/or just plain making correlations where there aren't any. This witch hunt/demonization of animal products, fats and meat is no differnt from the days of it's formation in veganism and vegetarianism. It's bad science and bad nutrition
