What went wrong?

What went wrong?

Slavery.
[/thread]

They weren't as industrialized as the north, and had 1/4th the population.
All things considered they actually got really lucky with having very good generals at the start of the war.

it was a slave society and naturally unsustainable

Please don't lump in Kentucky with those traitors. We didn't secede.

Literally the longest empire on human history, Rome was build on slavery

More like it was an agrarian economy that relied on the export of cotton to survive.

>The longest empire
Wtf does that mean?

This.

American education everyone!

He means by years.

Shut up Bryan.

We didn't let them secede. It's like your gangrenous foot wants to fall off but instead of letting it happen and applying a tourniquet you reattach it with a stapler and some rubber bands.

Greece, Rome, Persia, Otoman empire,... all were based on slavery and were far more sustainable than modern democracies

Who are you saying had the longest empire? Egypt?, Persia?, China?

Rome, Egypt, Persia, Ottomans, you chose all were based on slavery

longboi romans

Niggers. Also Oklahoma isn't the south, it's midwest.

Oklahomans btfo

Maryland didn't either.
Everyone south of us thinks we're a northern state, everyone north of us thinks we're a southern state.

>West Virginia, Kentucky and Oklahoma are southern
>Missouri isn't
Retarded map.

What went right is a better question

>American education

None of those empires were economically healthy and no Persia did not practice slavery as it was strictly forbidden by Zoroastrianism.

>uses a paddy slave army to crush your confederacy of slave owners
Heh, nothin personnel

>paddy
You mean German.

it was only unsustainable because of the industrialized yankees hellbent on destroying it, it could have survived just fine had they simply chosen not to attack, also slavery would end on its own accord

I mean every other nation that had slavery eventually abolished it because it was outdated as a method of production and wage labor was more effective, even without a war. Britain, France, Russia, even Brazil which was even more backwards than the South and most of their economy relied on slaves, eventually abolished it.

This

Slavery creates a lot of social ills that impact any society that practices it. Firstly it monopolizes labor in the hands of the slave owners, discouraging labor participation amongst the free populace. Secondly it breeds laziness, observers in the South noted that the slaves were just as lazy as their masters.

It was full of niggers

>was

it WAS full, NOW its overflowing

I don't remember the North firing upon federal land

They didn't think Americans would kill other Americans over secession.

They were wrong.

Bringing blacks over in the first place and fighting a war over keeping them in the second place

Importing niggers who breed to the point that they reach millions by current year just from a small population of 500,000 in 1700s

Slavery literally destroyed the Roman political system. And even if that wasn't the case, it's monumentally retarded to suggest that an economic system from literal millennia ago was viable in the middle of the industrial revolution

When you put all your eggs into one basket (cotton exports) and refuse to industrialize your economy, bad shit happens. Especially when it all hinges on a morally reprehensible practice that is completely unsustainable.

The black population has barely increased in a century

>Especially when it all hinges on a morally reprehensible practice that is completely unsustainable.
There is nothing morally reprehensible about domesticating beasts.

Dick size

Don't cut yourself on all that edge

It's where the Anglos settled.

KYS Negro lovers.

they were fucking stupid. Everyone was expecting a simple and easy war. The north underestimated them and got their asses handed to them. However the south for whatever reason didn't chase after them and attack the capital of the north which was washington iirc.

...

No, just kindly maintaining a piece of property wholly in foreign territory and crossing their fingers that the South would fire the first shots.

I bet you have a lot of friends

>wholly in foreign territory
Fort Sumter was federally-owned land, and if it was bait then the South was stupid enough to take it

Shit, they let you post from your cell Mr Cruz?

...

Reliance on agriculture.

>barely increased
>commonly cited proof is percentage of population
>america never grew in population since the 1890s
Black population increased in line with american growth. The total number of blacks has increased even if the proportion didn’t

America literally does this today with military bases. And the South firing first was the dumbest thing they did. Lincoln repeatedly advocated for peace and refused to be the aggressor. If the South had simply refused to fire, and continued on ignoring federal regulations and laws, acting as a separate nation, it would have either forced the North to concede ground on the issue, let become de facto independent or aggress directly. If the North chose to aggress directly, then hope could be made for victory politically because part of the justification for war in the beginning was it was a defensive one. If the North were the aggressor the Northern populace might have been less willing to tolerate it.
