even better

I use QuadrigaCX and I've never had any problems.

But the coincase fee's are super high. Does anyone here use Quadriga or Kraken?

buy at coinbase, sell at quadrigafx

What was have you been funding your account? Bank wire seems to be the only free one to get a large sum of money in there, is that safe? Will my bank start asking questions?

Why do you say this? Please explain?

I just used eTransfer when I sent them money, the few was quite high but I needed the money to get there quick for a shitcoin taking off. I don't know exactly how it works for an old-fashioned bank transfer but I can't imagine it would be a problem, it's not illegal to buy bitcoins after all.

Do you keep the coins you use in the Quadriga account or do you transfer them to a private wallet? If so:
What wallet do you use/recommend?
If I have bitcoins in a wallet will I get both coins after the fork?

easier to buy in coinbase, but you can only sell btc for cad and withdraw cash from quadriga

use kraken or quadriga to buy leafbro
you dont seem to know what you're doing, so for the hardfork you should send it to bittrex. Kraken SHOULD support the fork too but bittrex has had a great track record for the last 2 forks.
Dont expect kraken to work if bitcoin is mooning or dooming, but it works fine otherwise and they get audited so they should be safe.
I recommend bittrex as you will likely want to immediately dump your btc after the fork into USDT, which is tether in case btc crashes. Buy alts with it.
After the fork in the coming weeks, if crypto isnt completely fucking dead, buy a ledger nano s or trezor to store your btc

I don't keep anything on Quadriga, the general rule is that you shouldn't keep them on any exchange if you aren't actively trading but to be honest I keep mine on Binance (the exchange I use). But I only have about BTC, if I had a lot more I'd definitely keep some in a private wallet. That being said, I've never had a problem with Binance and Binance has also been really good about giving people there fork coins (they even gave out and let people trade the BTG coins that don't even really exist yet).

If there ARE any "free coins" with this segwit2x thing I'm sure Binance will give them out. Since this fork has no replay protection I'm not even how easy it will be to get fork coins from your own private wallet. I don't know much about the different wallet software out there. The past forks had replay protection so you could get your fork coins out. However if may be better to get them on an exchange because they dump immediately before your deposit from your own wallet will get there.

oh witi I just realized you only have 2 weeks, theres nearly 0 chance your wire transfer will go through as it usually takes 3-4 weeks for fiat transfers.
Coinbase is your only hope if you want the coins in time for free hardfork coins in time, and you will likely not get verified in time to buy 15k. Also they have a stupid fee to buy, very expensive.
Other alternative is localbitcoins, but thats even worse for fees, 15% premium to buy. GL

Yea if you haven't even started making an account anywhere I wouldn't count on being verified and having the wire transfer go through on time for this fork. Might be better to just wait for the BTC dip on/after the fork and get in then, or even just get in directly with fiat to ETH since ETH is at a huge discount right now.

It's not Lauren Southern, but google image thinks it is because there's a link to "Lauren from Southern cali"

The way you do it is tell Quadriga you're sending in a bank wire, and they give you transfer details. You go to the bank, and get them to punch in the transfer details. I don't think they can deny you even if you say you're moving all your savings to trade crypto's. I told BMO and my teller did not even know what bitcoin was, nor give a shit, other than 'and you're sure you trust this website?'.

The catch here is that once the transfer goes through, you need to upload your receipt to Quadriga. I waited half a day to do this and they cancelled my order so you have to do it ASAP. Your bank wire shouldn't take more than 5 days to show up, but when they are receiving high volumes of transfers, it could take longer. I've seen people complaining about having to wait weeks.

And that's it. Quadriga is pretty good, they've also upped their customer service. And if you want to trade on a different platform, it is free to transfer out your BTC/ETH/LTC/BCH to another address.

Is bitfinex banned in Canada? I have an account and i moved here this week, can't acces it all since I arrived..

And on the topic of there not being enough time to transfer in your money - I think Quadriga verification takes around 2 days maximum. After that you can e-transfer up to $2000 a day but for a 1.5% fee ($30). So you could do that for a few days if you're willing to take the fee hit.

I also use bitfinex and have no problem accessing it, but I don't have a verified account.

kys

Quadriga by far best platform, coinsquare is alright, has a few more coins as well, but I suggest quadriga or coinbase if you just want to get your feet wet.
But coinbase has shit fees and you can't really sell/trade specifically there. Purely a convenience of purchasing

I wish I was her every single day

Okay everyone, thanks for the replies!

Say I buy in 2 BTC w Quadriga, how can I then start trading other alt coins? I presume I will have to transfer BTC out to some other trading platform and do it that way? If so what is a good generic trading platform that will allow me to buy/sell other alt coins?

I think I'm trans dude I can't take seeing beautiful women, I get so jealous.

Coinsquare because they're the only exchange that didn't make me send them a fucking sperm sample to verify

Quadriga and Kraken have both worked for me.

Go to coinmarketcap.com/
then pick your coin then go to markets.
ex: coinmarketcap.com/currencies/vertcoin/#markets

open accounts in multiple exchanges and transfer your BTC in the wallet than the other eachange gives you but there is a 0.001 fee

Where does the 0.001 fee come from? Is it from the account/wallet I am transferring out of? Or is it from the account/wallet that I am transferring it to?

quadriga or kraken will take the fee from you

So you're telling me that I will pay a 9$ CAD fee to send a friend 5$ worth of BTC?

Quadriga itself is only for trading between fiat and BTC or ETH, to trade alts you'll need to send your coins other exchanges (like Poloniex, Bittrex, Binance, etc.)

Not all of these exchanges require you to get verified, for example you can sign up at Binance with nothing but an email if you are okay with only being allowed to withdraw up to 2 BTC per day.

You can send with no fee but then it may take days to get confirmed.

it's not worth it if you just send a few $. maybe you could try sending ltc/eth which has a cheaper fee

Thanks, that makes sense.

>You can send with no fee but then it may take days to get confirmed.
Hmmf, why would it take days? Are you or anyone able to explain this to me? "Days" as in 1-2 days, or 2+ days to send a friend 5$ worth of BTC without a fee.

no fee transactions are low on the list of priority for miners to process. it will eventually get processed by how long? depends on the time and day, no definitive answer can be given.

this is a known issue with scaling so you'll just have to bear with it until a fix is put in.

So why hasn't the free market offered more competitive trade fees. Why not 0.0001 instead of 0.001? Is it arbitrary?

ideology vs innovation

it's not a trade fee. it's a fee to pay miners to process your transactions. the higher the fee, the more priority it is assigned. the number of transactions allowable on the network is finite so more transactions means the miners prioritize the ones with the higher reward.

So as the incentives for miners decreases, there will inevitably be less miners. So does that mean as time progresses the fee's for the miners will continue to rise? If so is there any ceiling to this?
