Ausfag here, can confirm that power is extremely high here in australia thanks to our socialist government. Power per Kwh is around .28cents (in comparison india and usa is like .11 cents per kwh) so it definitely addresses a problem, however the amount of people actually using solar is tiny, and only grew this year because of government grants and discounts given out to people who were buying solar panels for their home which has now ended.

Less than 3% of australias grid is solar and it is likely to be like this for awhile. Blockchain can def make an impact in that industry but australians are not at the stage yet where huge amounts of solar power are available to be transferred via blockchain to people

tldr; good idea and solves a problem that australians need, but still a long way away before it will actually work

More efficient and better automated allocation of energy in general throughout the country in general will help some, but if this is just going to be focused on easier selling and buying of solar generated power it's not going to make a dent any time soon.

The reason Solar uptake has gone up recently is a 40% power cost increase over the last 10 months due to old coal power stations closing. The government benefit has gone nothing but gone down over the last 9 years.

Although solar power does not contribute massively to the grid, the power is directly feeding people's home now, not going directly to the grid, the uptake is enormous. As of 2010 1/3 houses had at least some solar PV panels.
