Can someone explain race in south Asia? Is the Aryan invasion a meme? I had to take social science course at my uni as a requirement and took a social inequality class. In one chapter it says that that inequality has happened historically like when the Aryans came into the subcontinent and set up a caste system to keep themselves at the top. I remember people saying this was a meme/false narrative. What's the truth Veeky Forums?
>pic kinda of related indian thot on instagram desixchck
It's true, all of it. Except they Aryans (or rather Indo-Aryans weren't those super civilized ubermenschen from Nazi mythos but nomadic (or semi-nomadic) pastoralists from the steppe.
Zachary Gutierrez
Wrong.

do you happen to know if genetic testing can proof this? like is there a genetic difference between the higher caste people compared to the lower ones
Benjamin Brooks
Well, let's define "aryan" at first: linguistically, those are the speakers of the Indo-Iranian proto-language, which is one of the 10 major subbranches of Indo-European. There are also inscriptions and literary sources about how the Aryans migrated into modern-day India.
In the Rgveda, you find many instances of praise for the victory of Indra over the "Dasyus", which are, essentially, the Dravidic pre-Indo-European indigenous population of the Indian subcontinent. It is also stated on some instances that Indra "curses the black skin".
To answer your question: Indo-Europeans mixed with Dravidians, resulting in the modern populations of India.
Anthony Hernandez
Yes, there is actually a recent study proving it, but I can't find it now.

>muh Rig Veda >muh mahabharata >10 million soldiers, le epic battles of gods!
>reality >Indus Valley collapses >Aryans move in Shit pottery is the only thing produced in India for the next 1000 years. NO writing, NO cities and definitely no le epic armies. It's actually surprising how nothing of worth was produced during this Vedic period.
Your glorious past is horse niggers invading your dark niggers kidnapping your women like Mongol fucks and breeding with them. Similar shit happened in Europe.
Alexander James
Well either there was an Aryan colonization/invasion/migration or Indo Europeans come from India. It's one or the other. Nothing he said sounds crazy.
>As of 2017, Nobel Prizes[note 1] have been awarded to 892 individuals,[1] of whom 201 or 22.5% were Jews,[note 2] although the total Jewish population comprises less than 0.2% of the world's population.[2] This means the percentage of Jewish Nobel laureates is at least 112.5 times or 11,250% above average. ;)

>espite their small population, Ashkenazi Jews have won more than one quarter of the Westinghouse Science prizes, the Turing Awards, and Fields Medals.[5] In addition 54 percent of the world's chess champions have Ashkenazi Jewish ancestry.[6] Among National Medal of Science recipients, 37 percent have Ashkenazi Jewish backgrounds as are 29 percent of U.S. Nobel Prize winners: 38 percent of American Nobel laureates in physics, 42 percent of Nobel laureates in medicine or physiology, and 28 percent of U.S. prize winners in chemistry.[4][5][6][7] In the United States, Ashkenazi Jews comprise 33 percent of the student body and faculty at Ivy League and other elite universities, and 30 percent of the U.S. Supreme Court law clerks.[5][8] Ashkenazi Jewish achievements is not only limited to intellectual pursuits, but also endeavors where having a higher intelligence is an advantage such as business and commerce. According to the 1931 census of Poland, Jews comprised 9.8 percent of the Polish population but controlled 22.4 percent of the wealth in the country.[8] Despite their small population, Ashkenazi Jews in Poland also owned 55 percent of large and medium-sized commercial businesses in 1938 and dominated the textile, chemical, food, transportation, paper manufacturing, and building material industries.[8]

Yes, high-caste Brahmins and Kshatriya and are genetically distinct from most Indians. >Importantly, the Pakistani (Indus Valley) populations differ substantially from most of the Indian populations and show comparably low genetic differentiation from European, Near Eastern, and Caucasian populations. In agreement with previous Y-chromosome studies, [41] and [42], the Brahmin and Kshatriya from Uttar Pradesh stand out by being closer to Pakistani and West Eurasian populations than to other Indian populations from the same geographic area
Thomas Gutierrez
Before you accuse people of historical revisionism prove that you have read a broader survey of current and past research on the topic than me and also explain to me why every form of even remotely respectful discourse is absolutely impossible on this board due to its infestation with absolute fucking brainlets.
Austin James
Not him, but you appear to be the brainlet in the situation. Dasyus are three-headed six-eyed evil serpentine demons who are very clearly not humans. Indra says this in the context of the demonic war. Shiva, Vishnu, Ram, Sita, and most gods are dark-skinned.
You are also wrong on the Dravidic indigenous population. You are so uneducated to somehow believe that the only group inhabiting India were Dravidians, which you obviously believe based on your "mixing" statement.
Luis Morales

"The Kalash people, the tribe that inspired Kipling live their daily lives deep in the valleys of the Hindu Kush, the unforgiving mountain range at the border of Pakistan with Afghanistan.
How they got there is a mystery. How they manage to survive is another. The Kalash are a people who have links with Greece in almost everything but proximity. They dance around night-time fires; they make wine and indulge in ancient Olympic sports such as wrestling and shot-put. With their piercing blue-green eyes, strong features and olive skins, even Alexander the Great was convinced of the Hellenic connection."
Few of the surviving fuckers are hiding in central Asia and some parts of the Middle east. I also remember reading somewhere about a small hidden Caucasian village somewhere in China.
Charles Wood
What similarities?
Jaxson Brown
>Genetic analysis of Y-chromosome DNA (Y-DNA) by Firasat et al. (2007) on Kalash individuals found high and diverse frequencies of these Y-DNA Haplogroups: L3a (22.7%), H1* (20.5%), R1a (18.2%), G (18.2%), J2 (9.1%), R* (6.8%), R1* (2.3%), and L* (2.3%).[38] Mutts.

Old Iranians were completely different from Indo-Europeans. And even most early IE people weren't blond.
>Indra >soma >According to David Anthony, the Old Indic religion probably emerged among Indo-European immigrants in the contact zone between the Zeravshan River (present-day Uzbekistan) and (present-day) Iran.[33] It was "a syncretic mixture of old Central Asian and new Indo-European elements",[33] which borrowed "distinctive religious beliefs and practices"[34] from the Bactria–Margiana Culture.[34] At least 383 non-Indo-European words were borrowed from this culture, including the god Indra and the ritual drink Soma.
