It's time to sort out the terminology being used here. I have been seeing a lot of idiots misusing "Shorting" lately.
What Veeky Forums thinks Shorting means:

What shorting actually means:
>Borrow Crypto from an exchange to sell and then buying at a lower price to return the borrowed Cryptos at a profit.
There is a VERY big difference here so please stop embarrassing your self.

How you profit off that is up to you, but yes the most common version is buying to sell and then buying back later at a lower price.
