While initially damaging to France, by 1812 the continental system had been much more costly to Britain. In a precarious financial situation Britain would be in no shape to repel an invasion of the newly rebuilt French navy that had learned from the experiences of Trafalgar and had the benefit of the return of emigre officers that Napoleon had reconciled to France.

Britain still traded within it's colonial empire and the defeat of the combined Spanish and French navies further proved British naval dominance. There is no way France could project its competitively meagre navy to blockade british trade with India.

Napoleon forced all Europe to adopt the continental system just to curtail rising British dominance. It didn't even work as France simply could not enforce this.
This a pretty foolish way to look at the powers in Europe. It's like saying the USA wasn't more powerful than Nazi Germany because their army was smaller.
Britain had an industrial capacity greater than all Europe put together. It had a productive colonial empire and an unchallenged navy.
Prussia was literally steam rolled by Napoleon and only survived thanks to failed Russian campaign and huge subsidies from Britain.
