Started lifting again 2 months ago

>started lifting again 2 months ago
>adding 5lbs to my excercises every 1-2 weeks, 3 at most
>except for dumbbell curls
>tfw just realised my form is so bad it's literally doing nothing to make my biceps stronger
>have to drop the weight down to an embarrassing amount to do it properly
Can someone just put me down already?

why are you doing dumbbell curls in the first place?
Best biceps exercises in order of effectiveness:
>high rep bodyweight chinups
>weighted chinups
>POWER GAP
>strict properly executed barbell curls
>POWER GAP
>everything else
>POWER GAP
>dumbbell curls

Who gives a fuck? Curls aren't a competition lift, so if you're only concerned about the weight you're lifting thats your ego talking.

Oh god lol.
>muh chins for biceps

I guarantee you have shit arms.

>embarrassing amount
kys

You could ez bar preacher curl over a sloped bench to isolate your biceps as well. Its nearly impossible to fuck up

My concern is that I just wasted 2 months with no progress because I'm an idiot

If you think chins don't give you decent arms, you are either too fat or too weak to do enough of them or do them heavy enough. Or you have body dysmorphia.

don't worry man I was the same, just lift light until you fell your form is good and when you go back up to heavy lifts it'll be worth it

How do you do a power gap?

The fuck is a power gap

Jesus fucking christ summer is here

Actually I started browsing this board some months ago, but yes. Mind explaining what the fuck it is or what

I think the first one was a joke m8

it just means that the next thing after the power gap is much worse than the thing before the power gap

Considering dropping ohp weight by 5kg today

Basically i do seted ohp because of gym ceiling limitations. However, i've been doing them with the seat up against my back.

If i were to lower the back, i don't think my core could support me going for 40kg (which I failed 5x5 for before, getting 5/5/5/4/3).

Does it really matter if I have back support or not?

lol are you 7ft tall?

6'3, gym ceiling just isn't that high.

I don't know why that always surprises people.

That makes sense, thanks

It means
>Power = 9001
>Power = 8500
>Power = 8370
>POWER GAP
>Power = 500
>Power = 450
>POWER GAP
>Power = 20
>Power = 18
>POWER GAP
>Power = 0.005

The "Power" of what's after the "Power Gap" is orders of magnitude worse than what's before the Gap.
