Just eat maintenance calories, or slightly above and make those extra calories protein only. People bulk until they start getting fat, then they cut for summer, feel like they're getting too small and weak and do the same shit forever. If you eat maintenance, you at least only eat what's right for you.

i tried to follow this exact approach for a long time

predictably, my lifts really stagnated and i wasted a lot of time, as soon as i committed to bulking properly and gaining 0.5-1lb a week my lifts started progressing again

recomping works great for relative novices and probably also works wonderfully for genetic anomalies like candytoe but the longer i lift the more evidence i see that most people would be better off picking a goal (get bigger or get leaner) and then bulk/cut to support that goal

my advice would be to just eat clean and enough to go intense in the gym for like two months. go fucking hard, by the time your done this your metabolism will be much better and u can cut and bulk from there without to much issue

big problem i see is mother fuckers taking 2 months off lifting, or 3 weeks and then they say "better cut/bulk' nah ur not even lifting dude so dont even bother with that shit. START FUCKING LIFTING GET IN SHAPE THAN WORRY ABOUT IT.

I'm not sure what you're driving at, though. Candito is super strong for 1RM work and also has incredible conditioning in his main lifts, like the lmao2pl8 bench for 19 reps mentioned earlier ITT. There's a vid of him front squatting for 20 here too. One doesn't rule out the other.

I've stayed in the same weight range for the past few months. My lifts have all gone up quite a bit, and I feel like I'm losing body fat. For example, before I couldn't see any bit of my abs at all. Now, even under shitty lighting, if I flex it right, you can make it out. Obviously I'm far from being a fuckin bodybuilder, but recomping does work. Once you plateau though, I'd recommend bulking up again and recomping like Candito talks about.
