Kids 50 years ago naturally had better bodies. Why?

Watch these videos. Not only are these guys low body fat, but they're fairly muscular and well built. I don't think they were doing formal weight training. How did they get this big?

2. They are not by any means big, they look to be in the range of 150-180lbs (guessing at an average height of 6ft). They all have the typical athletic build that a healthy young male will get with regular physical activity like the calisthenics in the videos and a non shit diet

3. Get your lifts and bodyweight into decently respectable numbers and you will be able to do every single exercise they are doing. Strength is not one dimensional

They're not really big, they're just lean.
Most of them probably had to work on a farm since they were little kids.
They had no vidya and porn and TV, they were always outside and moving.
They had much a better diet than we have today. Maybe not a lot (also why they're lean and not big), but mostly fresh, whole, healthy food. Nothing processed, nothing high in sugar (except for special occasions), not afraid of dietary fats, not afraid of carbs, not afraid of meat, eggs and dairy.
Their parents were probably also fitter than ours are, epigenetics are a thing.
And they had higher testosterone levels, because of their lifestyle.

Calisthenics is great but it has it's limits, so does weight based training though. As everyone has pointed out it's no surprise that exercise and nutrition build muscle and strength, it's by no means magical and the contrast is aptly summarized in the difference of societal factors.

My high school was highly athletic with multiple athletic programs with multiple people running 100m sub 11 seconds with half the rugby squad deadlifting 200kg+. Even as a non athlete playing vidya all the time I hit 3plate 1rm bench in senior year.

Feats which none of those kiddos could reach. The bar on average is just set really fucking low these days.

Food was healthier, physical education couldn't be avoided so easy, no vidya, less pollution of each races gene pool so everyone was at peak performance, no fat acceptance, etc.

Kids back then were far more active and their athletic programs weren't sissified. If you were a fat fuck that didn't do shit you got an F.

Men back then lived more active lifestyles, ate far better food, and had much high natural test levels as a result (look it up).

People these days live sedentary lifestyles and ate garbage like McDonald's all day, so of course they look like shit. However, if you look at people who do workout and eat well, they're far better than the best they had to offer 50 years go.

There's a lot of truth to this. It's the same reason why hardly any kids can draw, play an instrument, name an author, etc. As much as humanities are a meme, they really did make people well rounded in the past. PE involved cardio and weights, art involved painting and studying artists, meanwhile we barely have this at the college level.
Oh don't forget that kids can't fail anymore so those classes became what they are today.
