Property taxes should still be considered an expense on rentals. So no effect on REIT. The tax change only fucks your homestead residence. aka homeowners living in their house.

These places are common to have mortgages over 500,000 which would not be covered by the new tax bill.
This would drive down prices which would make (((them))) lose money.

This doesnt just effect houses. It effects banks who get 1 million dollars in interest which is paid for by the government with the old deduction system.
Every dollar of interest was deducted on your taxes.
That means you dont have to pay up front for your house and you arent paying interest.
So you are effectively taking that money away from the banks and lowering housing costs because of it.
