To be fair, the Ottoman Empire survived - at least in name - until 1922, whereas the Germans, Austrians and Russian all got fucked up and disappeared in the 1910's.

It never died. People just arbitrarily use "Ottoman Empire" to describe pre-WW1-aftermath Turkey, despite how nobody called them "The Ottoman Empire".

How can someone be that lame to laugh at this?

I recall reading a pro-Russian newspaper from 1904 and 1905 which did a running commentary on the Russian-Japanese war (technically I was researching another series of events they were reporting on, but I read the war reports too). In hindsight it was hilarious how hard they tried to make the Russians look good and in the end, even after Tsushima and the Treaty of Portsmouth, they settled on the narrative that in the end it was a great Russian triumph and a Japanese humiliation. Pretty much on the grounds that the peace treaty was a bit less harsh on the Russians than most people expected.

can’t believe France was stupid enough to allow the Germans to go through Belgium twice

press S to spit on Hébert's grave.

What is this referring to?

Memes are funny and all but in 1940, Belgians didnt allow us to defend them, as that would make them """"pick a side"""". Hence they had troops stationned on the French border too.

>memes are funny
not this one though, is quite shit.
