Since all the continents are connected, there wouldn't be any "new world" to explore. As such, if a large empire were to thrive, it will take over all of it.

IF the map is supposed to invert the geography, then the mid-atlantic ridge should be a giant mountain chain separating the Americas from the rest of the world
