Was he the most powerful man ever? His power was absolute

Was he the most powerful man ever? His power was absolute.

Yes, but the Allies or Hitler could topple him. What's great with Stalin is that he understood that ww2 was inevitable as early as 1935, and began a wise militarisation of the Soviet economy, without sacrifying the development of civilian industry. When Germany attacked in 1941, the Soviet Union was still unready, but her strong industry could still survive in autarky while the Germans were lacking of everything (oil, food...).

No Harry Truman was.

>Was he the most powerful man ever?
He's definitely a contestant/top 5 but i'm not sure, how do you even measure power?

Power of the country multiplied by how absolute his power was.

>Most powerful man ever
>Goes against jews
>is immediately assasinated by jews

He went after Jews in mid 30s. Pretty much every relevant Jew was shot. Loyal dogs like Kaganovich and Mekhlis are irrelevant.

stalin literally shat himself when he heard hitler attacked soviet union
he was delusional and out of touch with reality because he believed hitler wouldn't break peace pact with soviet union (despite breaking every deal and promise he ever made) and even executed some spies who reported of an incoming german attack, calling them western spies who tried to destroy "good" relations between ussr and nazi germany

If I were to create a top 5 list, it would go like this, keeping in mind historical context:
1. Napoleon
2. Stalin
3. Alexander the Great
4. Genghis Khan
5. Shi Huang Di

thats literally Krushjewite propaganda created in late 50's

Read Georgi Dimitrov's diary from that period.

if stalin was so well prepared then why did he lose shit loads of land and barely managed to organize proper defense only after nazis closed in on moscow and stalingrad?
there's multiple records saying that stalin lost his shit completely and disappeared for a few days before gathering enough strength to publicly address soviet citizens

Stalin was very conservative (and that's why some people prefer Trotsky), and he made the best decision by allying Germany and invading Finland and Cie. Why do you think he multiplied the size of his army by like 7 from 1939 and 1941, when Germany was totally dominating ?
Because lack of good doctrines (regarding tanks, especially) and unfinished mobilisation. If Germany attacked 1 or 2 years later, there would probably be no match.
Never heard about the 2nd part of your post.

Stalin even thought he was going to be arrested and executed as an enemy of the state at that time.

*from 1939 to 1941

his biggest mistake was that he believed hitler won't invade soviet union, and his army was in terrible condition because he personally ordered execution of multiple experienced high ranking officers, leaving soldiers clueless and unorganized
it's one of the reasons why soviets suffered much more casualties than germans

name two "experienced high ranking officers" he executed

Yes (eg Tukhachevskiy) and no (not so much officers were purged, mainly high ranking officials). But I agree, he was paranoid and put political commissars in every divisions, hindering the army flexibility.

He let off the grip during the war, while Hitler didn't (see Kursk).
