Are vikings from Denmark, Norway or Sweden?

All of them dumbass

Yes.

A thread died for this

Vikings are from Denmark and Sweden. Norse are from Norway. There is very little difference but the vikings raided and settled England and mainland Europe, the Norse settled Scotland and Ireland.

I hate you so much

They were still viking my dude. Norwegian Vikings also raided England with the Danes. Swedish Vikings were more traders and less like pirates/raiders. Also it was Norwegian Vikings who settled Iceland and for a short time, north America

Also Norse was a term used for all north men, not just Norwegians

Probably bait but this made me feel a little angry. Fuck you user

It was danish people that raided england. It was danish people that settled iceland, greenland and america

No it was not lol. Leif Erickson was Norwegian

Am I being trolled right now

No, he was danish, there was no norway whatsoever at the time

Leif was icelandic though. And iceland was discovered by a faeroese

Icelandic=Norwegian
Faeroese=Norwegian
D*nish=Norwegian but flat

>literally a thread about people arguing about historical nationalist myths

Is Old Norse more related to Danish, Norwegian, Swedish, Faroese, Icelandic or English?

/Thread

Naddoddr was from Norway, same with Leif's parents

jag hatar dig sluta själ min kultur favä

hard to say

but yeah most say icelandic

Denmark and Norway
Danish pnes are the more famous

All of the above. Viking was a profession, akin to raider or pirate, not a race.

>Denmark and Norway

The vikings where most notably from three regions

Sweden (svea) that went east to russia and beyond

Geats (götar) worked with scanians and swedes, didn't do much

Norwegian Vikings colonized west

scanians (skåne) invaded france (normandy) among other places. Quebec comes from the Scanian name Kviddebäck.

Danish vikigns like said went int england forming the danelaw.
