Did the Soviets have any type is pseudo elite troops? As far as I know the NKVD were more similar to the SS than elite troops.

Spetznas GRU
How did learn about those but not spetznas?
>the french had the Moulin Rouge ,Suck and Fuck , formerly and always after Cuck
Guards, perhaps?
Though I heard that they were often reinforced with fresh recruits.
I was talking about WW2 specifically
The dude from op's pic is dead, right?
'Guards' was a title given to divisions with a good history of combat, rather than small units of 'elite' soldiers (though this is a sort of reductive way of looking at how units functioned. SAS, Rangers and Fallschirmjager were all fairly 'specialist' units). The Soviets did have paratroops but they didn't see much use in that role during the war (though I know there was a big operation after Kursk with mixed success). Soviet paratroopers had actually helped to inspire the formation of the Fallschirmjager, which in turn inspired many other paratrooper formations.
The Soviets also had aforementioned Spetznas who'd often don German uniforms for infiltration.
Furthermore, even 'elite' units drew in fresh recruits, the scale of which largely depended upon what kind of casualties they were dealing with. The Red Army's massive casualties from 41-42 meant they had to rebuild units from trained reservists and the casualties from their wildly successful operations in 1944 saw them again forced to rebuild depleted or gutted units.
Naval infantry
SAS and rangers/jagers are not the same thing
SAS/commandos is a special forces unit akin to the early navy seals
Rangers and jägers are shock troops akin to that of the paras
*hugs you*
Then next time say that in your post and don't post a picture from the 2000's

Guards
Would pregnant Anne Frank have been saved if America's elite soldiers, Delta Force, Army Rangers, and 160th SOAR had been around at the time?
No. Because once they made touchdown, Vietnamese and Afghani farmers would be coming out of the wood work to kill them. Spiderholes everyone nigga.
There was an elite unit under NKVD simmilar to Brandenburgers that operated in WW2, but I always forget its name.
NKVD was doing the same stuff like SAS behind enemy lines so you can take this.
>be me
>post a photo of Operation Gothic Serpent which took place in Somalia
>immediately revert to "le Vietnamese and Afghani farmers" meme instead of Somali hoodlums and their Chad pickups fitted with .50 cals
Lost opportunity there buddy
Also,
>Vietnamese and Afghani farmers
>in Nazi occupied-Europe
>siding with the Nazis
Does not compute.
Waffen SS had some of the best (and worst) units in the war
Finnish Waffen SS unit was even praised by Himmler as vanquishing enemies where ever it fought.
Soldier getting praised by Himmler is like Stephen Hawking getting praised by Usain Bolt
Uncle Vasya's Forces.
