powerlifting isn't a real sport

define real

Plg feels weird

something that exists

powerlifting doesn't exist

>DC day 9
>PRs on everything again
>managed to eat enough carbs to not go mildly hypoglycemic postworkout this time

It's a good day. I probably won't continue posting updates on this after the end of next week, because, well... I can only say "I hit a PR on everything" so many times before it gets boring.

>WAWTT
>WAWET
>WAWLTT
>WAWFT

define exists

Why do dark ppl do things like this?

I don't understand

What has happened to plg?

Its just porn and shit posting

Where is everyone

I love everything about this pic lmao

Porn?

There is a picture of a black man eating out a cow above you

Well if you see this as porn you might wanna think about your life.

>sports day
>in gym
>ordered to do push-ups
>can't even do 10
>girls were doing more than me
>humiliated that day
>years have passed since
>can now do 50 push-ups in one set

>still can't bench 2pl8

It's been a long, rough road. How long have you been gone?

Glad you like it. I did it all by myself. c:

I think I know what your next "I can rep that out" goal is.

Good job, it's great seeing OC with Dr. Seuss comics.

Wow that was weirdly inspirational...

I've had this forever. I think I even posted it here a long while back. Probably before you were tripping.

It's all about progress, man. I've been in your shoes before, and the satisfaction that comes from those "oh, I can do that now" realizations only gets better.

I just want to be a real normie

I've been here since September 2014 and have never seen that image. Hmmmmmm?

Who dis? Lonelypl?

I went on Instagram for 15 minutes and now I hate black people and women.

Every picture was the same
>5' woman with saggy tits and orange skin
>standing beside her was some lean guy 6' who looks like he does curls and that's it

Saw a lot of white girls with bronze faces and their black boyfriends who look ugly af but hey, they're black

I can't stand normies

Gotcha beat, chief, I've been here since summer of 2013.

I could swear I had posted it at one time, but maybe I'm remembering wrong.

The difference is I've been here almost every day and never once tripped.
Truly the most honourable and modest user there ever was.

Are you the guy who had to quit due to his exploding knee?

Not tripping doesn't make you special or better than anyone else.

Keep in mind that marcel, garagebro, norsefat, caladan, filip (can't actually remember his trip right now for some reason), and a few others were good contributors to the thread before it all went to shit. Tripping itself isn't problematic, just some of the people who do it.

>exploding knee

No, I'm not that guy, though I did have a knee injury. I've been user the whole time, too. I often post with FLCL or SpongeBob webms.
>like so

Oh yeah, you posted that thumbs up captain webm to me this one time and I kept pointing it out every time I recognised you.

Can't remember why though...

It seemed familiar...

So the partner PDF of Nuckols recommends that intermediates do 2x squat, 2x bench and 1x or 2x DL.
Is 3x, 3x and 1x too much? From what I saw anyway the difference between 2x and 3x is a "light" day

Also, 28 free, TM or cowboy? What about Sheiko? (I'm bored and want to switch to a 3x week routine)

Yeah that was me.

>I kept pointing it out every time I recognised you.
>Can't remember why though...

See how useful the trip would have been, had I chosen to use one? :)

no cause I never want to see you again

I hate nigger/millenial culture

Look through through the twitters of your average retarded liberal high schooler/college student and you'll want to tear your fucking eyes out

>Too much
Maybe not, give it a go

>28 free
Good for bench, decent for dead, beginner for squats is good, not sure about the rest

>TM
Good for squat, not great for anything else

>Cowboy
Never ran it, but apparently just an overall better TM

>Sheiko
Works well, can get boring, highly specific programming

I've completely lost all motivation.

This is a good thread, worthy of my presence.

k

Normal people are empty, fragile, and weak. I do not envy them.

If I had a nickel for every older guy I saw who's gotten pudgy, is sitting in an unsatisfactory relationship (or divorced), has no discernible hobbies or skills outside of work (Game of Thrones and other TV shows are NOT a hobby, even if they are interesting) and "used to be able to bench 225", I would never have to work again.

You realize that image is anti-IPF, right? It's comparing them to Hitler.

GO AWAY!!!!!!

Has anyone run the powerliftingtowin routines? I'm not really interested in powerlifting but I figure why not get stronger. Also, do I need a belt for it to work?

I've been thinking of getting a full tattoo sleeves to cover up some stretch marks and because I genuinely like the look.

How the hell are you supposed to chose on designs?
Been thinking about this for ages now and can't decide.

Oh wow thanks. Questions:

If I end up doing Nuckols 3x squat,
1: day 2 is a set of fronts at RPE 8, and as many sets as possible until the same reps become RPE 9. How does that work? If I take an one minute break I won't even get the same reps, if I take a 15 minute break I will need 10 sets until I reach RPE 9. How much should I rest for? Let's say a fixed 3 minutes?
2: are overhead squats meme tier? Serious question. I was thinking that maybe I could do 3x bench, and overhead instead of highbar squat on Friday, so maybe that way I don't need to OHP. Friday's weights are too light anyway, worst Friday is 6 doubles at 65% 1rm. Am I retarded? Should I really do OHP?

If I do 1x deadlift, when should I do it? I was thinking Friday because the preceding squats are really light. But maybe that's not "meet specific"?

If I do 3x bench with side raises and facepulls, do I miss something OHP would hit? I'm guessing upper traps, but don't rows and deadlifts kinda cover those?

A lot of people just get a bunch of tattoos and have them blend together. It's not always just one huge design.

I'm always more impressed by the single-design sleeves, though.

Why is sean so depressed?

I'm getting tired of his constant nihilist depression spamming.

Rasputin ran one of the beginner ones and I think he liked it. Iirc, it deals with RPE and that is almost certainly a tad bit too advanced for a novice.

>Need a belt
It's not necessary but it helps, especially on squat

Maybe think about it from a different perspective, instead of getting one big piece, get many smaller ones

>1
Rest as long as you feel that you need to. In this case, 5 minutes should probably be your limit. 3 minutes would be fine as well

>2
Extremely, especially if you're not interested in oly. Ohp isn't necessary but I enjoy it.

>1x deads
On Friday is probably fine, don't worry too much about doing things in meet order unless you're doing a mock meet

>3x bench
Not really. If you were me your triceps wouldn't get hit nearly as well, but it doesn't matter. Do what you'll enjoy.

I mean, that is good advice. I'm definitely more attracted to a full sleeve, but something I want out of a tattoo is to never get bored of it.
Like, every time I look at it, I want to notice small details and patterns I never knew were even there, that kind of thing.

So lots of smaller tattoos does make sense in that sense.

I am an impatient person though tbqh

>Extremely, especially if you're not interested in oly. Ohp isn't necessary but I enjoy it.
x bench
>Not really. If you were me your triceps wouldn't get hit nearly as well, but it doesn't matter. Do what you'll enjoy.

I meant if I need to OHP from a shoulder health point of view. I enjoy it too but it's too hard to manage front delt and tricep fatigue if you bench 3x week and OHP on top.
Let me ask it this way, because I've been tiptoeing around like a faggot.
What shoulder girdle related exercise besides bench 3x week, rowing 1x week and pullups 2x week should I be doing?

>Shoulder girdle
That's probably enough tbqh. Maybe move the rows up to 2x a week? Overall it looks ok though.

Some depressed people are very reserved or perhaps ashamed of their problems.

They won't say.

But that's okay, you should be supportive and try and help Sean instead of constantly reminding him of his depression and fragile mortality.

I am not Sean, but I know he's suffering and just needs compassion, even if he isn't able to bring himself to show any to anyone else.

Life doesn't have to be so damn miserable. Surround yourself with better people.

Nah, fuck him and fuck you too raffy.

Listening to post malone and Justin bieber and its actually pretty sick

Good lifting music on volume days

hi trappy

Its me Sean's imaginary friend dino

just a heads up tattoos and scar tissue and stretch marks dont age well

Who wants to find me a Floyd v Connor stream

Sad!

First meet in just under 2 weeks. What sortoflifting should on I do for the week before?

Cailer Woolam

discuss

why dont you consider the bridge?
it's 3x too.

Incorrect, I tried that many years ago. He will take advantage of any compassion given. He must be treated with contempt until he kills himself.

Deadlift PR

If you can't deadlift as much as "raffy," you must announce it

I had a couple of beginner questions about competitions.

How long are you allowed to stay on the platform? As in, is there any rule preventing me from taking a solid 90 seconds to set up for like a deadlift?

Are microwave ovens common to find or do I have to bring food I can eat cold?

Can I compete barefoot?

i count ~500lbs

Will I be kicked out of my commercial gym if I bring chalk?

powerliftingtowin.com/lilliebridge-method/
This?
It seems like the worst program ever. Benching only once per week is a bad idea. Unless you meant another program or there are more details in the ebook that make the program better, that I didn't find

Building the Bridge not lilliebridge

i actually mean the bridge from barbell medicine ...

For a deadlift, I believe the USAPL/IPF rules are that you have a minute to begin the lift once you get the "BAR'S LOADED" announcement for your lift. By "begin the lift," they mean attempt to pull the weight.

For squats and bench, I'm pretty sure it's a minute to get the "squat" or "lift" command from the "bar's loaded" call.

I wouldn't count on a microwave. I just brought granola bars, trail mix, and a half gallon of chocolate milk.

I am fairly certain you cannot compete barfoot.

The orange and metal plates are all 45 lbs, the yellow is 25, and that change on the end is 5 lbs. The bar is, naturally 45 lbs.

If we count the clips, it's probably actually a 556 lbs deadlift.

i thought that program was called building the bridge lmao

how do I know that the black plates are actually metal plates theres rubber on the outside

if the reds are 45 then lmao youre not even doing a 500lbs diddly

>How long are you allowed to stay on the platform? As in, is there any rule preventing me from taking a solid 90 seconds to set up for like a deadlift?
You have 60 seconds to commence your lift/get the start command.

>Are microwave ovens common to find or do I have to bring food I can eat cold?
Prepare to eat your food cold.

>Can I compete barefoot?
You cannot. You must wear an athletic shoe. No dress shoes or work boots. Some kind of trainer, WL shoe, wrestling/boxing shoe, deadlift slippers, plimsoles etc.

Got the pdf, reading it right now
>8) When do you recommend stretching?
>a. Easy answer, NEVER.
What did he mean by this?

>athlethic shoe
>deadlift slipper or plimsoles

Athletic like used in sports. Deadlift slippers are used in powerlifting, thus allowed.

Why would he kill himself?

He drives a subaru. His life must be awesome.

Will doing cardio give me more energy? I've trained 3x - 5x a week for years but never done cardio on my offdays.

what are good cold meals to bring

Nice form raffy

haha ok raffy

Powerlifting isn't a sport

How would you know that metal plates labeled 45 lbs are actually 45 lbs of iron and not much less of some low density aluminum or something?

The answer is, it's obviously 500+ lbs based on the bar bending, which you don't realize because the bar doesn't bend on your 285 lbs sumo pulls.

Best routine to take my pathetic 90kg bench to 2 plate+

SS -> TM

he just means not to stretch and instead to warm up on the ROM.
what jordan suggests is to squat the empty bar every minute on the minute for 5 reps for 10 minutes.
i usually do 5 or 6 mins only and im already more than warmedup & "stretched"

A banana

Tbh yelling "NEVER" in all caps sounds more like "never stretch under any circumstances at all" and less like "don't stretch to warmup but stretching post workout is ok"

Is it better to do more rows or more pullups? Which is less fatiguing and provides more benefit? My current setup is something like this for a week with back work on it's own day which is still like a rest day desu.

I want to add lighter back work more often but not sure where and what type.

Chinup, Row
Bench, OHP, Dip, Side/Rear Delts
Squat, DL, Quad/Abs
Rest
Row, Chinup
OHP, Bench, Dip, Side/Rear Delts
DL, Squat, Hamstring/Abs

deads, chins/pullups, power cleans are all you need
rows are a tier 3 pulling movement that tire you out needlessly, theyre on par with curls and rear delt work

i will fight anyone who disagrees whats up BITCHES

What are your goals? You're probably already doing more back work than most

but you cannot do any of them

I was expecting that to look horrible, but it actually looked pretty good.

Just a bigger stronger back really, since I've posted I've looked at some stuff online, I think I might just try to increase my pull-up numbers by doing one max set of unweighted everyday, I guess it would lead to the same goal and only takes a minute.

What do you guys do for forearms? Mine still look like sticks.

ohp -> bench -> dip

might be overkill unless you strong enough to burst sets of 10 on dip without a sweat

I am strong enough for that and only weigh like 80kg.

Any faggots from gothenburg here

What club should I join

paused deadlifts make me want to kill myself
what other variation should I do?

Also, what deadlift variation works lats the most?

Deficit deadlifts

Chinups

I think Fil's is strykelyft so you should go there.

>tfw 4pl8
didnt raf dl like 2.5pl8

I moved my grip like an inch or two closer, usually pinkies on rings. I feel so fucking loose with a tiny change wtf.

sumo or conv

hes talking bench you dumb fuck

Whoops
Bench*

It's like I can't grind reps as well and unrack as tightly. Probably because that inch or two closer means I have way less shoulder abduction idk
