Weird

Low IQ types favour gaudy shit.

Tribal/primitive imagery

>Low IQ types favour gaudy shit.

*walks towards you*

That's not gaudy. There are only two primary colours arranged against white. There's also a great deal of symmetry going on there, and the interplay of the stitching is eloquent.

The non islamic or pre islamic african fashion is pretty nice. Obviously id never wear it, but as an item of interest it's pretty neat to look at.

>hurr durrr it's elegant becuz i sae soo!

There is the "boubou", that is a mix of Islamic influences and African influences

Comparing the european to photo #1 it is clear the african clothes are shit. But picture 2 for example is a better example of African clothing.

Its origin lies with the clothing worn by the Islamic Tukulor, Mandé and Songhai peoples of the 8th-century Takrur and Ghana Empires, and 13th-century Mali and Songhai Empires. (See Bisht and kaftan for information on these.)

The use of the grand boubou as clothing became widespread throughout the West African region with the migration of semi-nomadic groups such as the Fulani, and traders such as the Dyula and Hausa.

Well, they ARE the dumbest fucks of Europe.

Swahili people

Did you miss the metric fuck-ton of gold they sling about themselves while their people starve around them?

Nah in Europe we loved tons and tons of bright colors pretty much until the 18th century when englightement idiots started favoring the grimdark meme.

Traditional Songhai clothing for women

Looks like someone shat into a garbage bag.

...

Look up what the term gaudy actually means (hint: it doesn't just refer to wearing bright colours).

...

these are pretty good aesthetically

Kente cloth are very gaudy, I usually wore them when they're black and white, because it's less gaudy.

I usually prefer them when they're black and white*

Mohammed Ali rocking Kente.

THIS INFORMATION IS NOT COMPLETELY VERIFIED AND NOT SURE, DON'T TAKE IT AS AN ABSOLUTE FACT.

It's said that during his trip at the Gold Coast, he tried to remove the sword of Okomfo Anokye, but failed.

Ethiopian Emperor Haile Selassie in his coronation robe and crown. You can see clear Byzantine influence on the style and composition of the garments.

>Did you miss the metric fuck-ton of gold they sling about themselves
it's gilded
> while their people starve around them?
this is irrelevant and a gross generalization

>But picture 2 for example is a better example of African clothing.
so in other words, its fruitless to make assertions about "gaudiness" because africans have historically worn countless types of clothing. who would ahve thought?

Is there an instructable or something on the net to create my own kente weaving machine?

Indigo clothes

Very popular in the western regions of Africa, indigo textiles were made by dyeing off white cloth with naturally-made indigo dyes. In order to create the indigo color, the artisans would collect the red or purple flowers of the indigo plant. Indigo was the foundation of ancient textile traditions throughout this region, since clothes dyed in this color were a sign of wealth. The cloth would be dyed by female artisans, however in the communal dye pits of the ancient city of Kano, men could often be seen working as well.

Kofar Dye Pits

The Kofar Dye Pits are supposedly the oldest in Africa, and are a great attraction for visitors who are interested in experiencing first-hand the traditional indigo dyeing process, as it has been practiced for over 500 years. There are many dye pits in Kofar mata, but nowadays more than 100 have been left in a state of disrepair, and abandoned.

I don't think mercenaries were the most clever people.

Ancient Egyptian clothes refers to clothing worn in ancient Egypt from the end of the Neolithic period (prior to 3100 BC) to the collapse of the Ptolemaic dynasty with the death of Cleopatra VII in 30 BC. Egyptian clothing was filled with a variety of colors. Adorned with precious gems and jewels, the fashions of the ancient Egyptians were made for not only beauty but also comfort. Egyptian fashion was created to keep cool while in the hot desert

>dat bulge

In our time, these clothes would be considered lingerie. Why nobody created a pornographic parodie of Egypt with pornstars wearing clothes like that?

?

>>we'll never get to know Native American national identities fully developed on their own

ummmmm, no, sweetie

African culture probably, Native american culture is completely dead

He mean something that is developed upon their indigenous roots.

That was probably the worst thing I've ever written. I meant as in seeing both culture groups fully evolved on their own without Europe's colonization.

I knew what you meant, but I'm gonna call you a fag anyway.

so Italians have low IQs?

I like Ethiopian Royalty's clothing

yes

I think Ethiopians are their own separate entity apart from other Africans, similar to the Egyptians. They, iirc, consider themselves of the tribe of Judah, hence the lion and Ethiopia has been heavily influenced by Christianity even developing their own orthodoxy. Even Mussolini wanted them for some reason

Ethiopian is not a race nor an ethnic group, are you talking about Amhara or Tigray? because no Oromo and no Somali consider himself descendant of Solomon.

Yeah I would like to know too.

Fair point about the Native Americans, but the African thing is a meme. What more were you expecting without industrialisation? There's certainly no guarantee that they would have continued to develop and diversify without colonization, and, in many cases, the opposite appeared to have been the case - with many tribes and peoples remaining static in custom and dress for thousands of years.

...

No. They have the highest in Europe. And there's a difference between guady and lavish.

Africa is still very african, And their incorporation of european languages is good for buisness.

I really wish Mesoamerica could be left alone, it would be amazing to see their architecture incorporate developments in construction methods (especially to make their stuff with more round elements, like the muslims), see it change with the decades and all unique stuff documented in the streets. If the nation would industrialize, it would most likely be like India, multiculturalism with shared religion and increasing integration. But if it didnt industrialize earlier it would maybe be like Turkey, having a tribe occupy it and form a new culture with influences from the past. I also wonder if it ever would industrialize and get rich, as its hard to govern with its mountains and subpar geography, much of Mexicos wealth comes from European colonialism, in the form of American demand for goods and labour.

They still had tribal faiths that didnt destroy their creativity unlike Fagtianity.
