Often the dead that are held in reverence and remembrance are of ones family or tribe. Whatever the case is, the user that made the thread clearly has some emotional bias towards the Germans.

I'm op. I don't think monuments to the bravery of men fighting for their country should be desecrated like this, whatever their nationality is. I can understand they took down the swastika, but letting it lie derelict like this is too much, in my opinion. There are monuments, plaques, and acknowledgements to the allied soldiers in Germany, and I don't imagine that they are getting the same treatment as this. And if they are, that's is entirely as awful as this.

I simply happened upon this monument while reading an article on wikipedia, and shared my thoughts.
