They look more like colonies than actual states to me.
Are these colonies of the American Empire?
Well they are states though. Unless you want to show me something they lack in comparison to the rest of the union other than not being directly connected to the mainland.
That's because you're dumb and your only understanding of "colonies" is "being far away from home territory"
They are not a physical part of the 48 continental states.
Outpost would probably be the better way to think of it.
IMO, you're not a colony unless you're being colonized or exploited like one. West Virginia, for example, is basically a colony and typifies the Core/Periphery power dichotomy of World-Systems Theory.
I feel for the Hawaiians. they are now a minority in their own country
it's bready fucked up
Well ofcourse the Hawaiians are a minority in their own country. The United States is a big nation afterall. Its gow being in a union works, mongrel.
Was east Prussia a German colony when Poland had the Danzig corridor?
So Kyushu, Shikoku, Hokkaido, etc are colonies of the glorious Japanese empire?
That's not how colonies work fagtard.
Now American commonwealths such as Puerto Rico or Guam could be argued to be colonies.
I mean they were colonies until 1959
Guam and Puerto Rico are colonies. Hawaii and Alaska are actual states with actual representation.
Akschually Puerto Rico is an unincorporated territory of the United States, the United States is not a filthy empire that has colonies like some filthy oppressive *Nglo
Alaskan here, almost everyone here sees themselfs as americans.
The requirements to be a colony are
1. coconut trees
2. niggers
3. stolen land
Hawaii is definitely a colony, Alaska isn't.
Albania and occupied land of Kosovo are some of colonies of American Empire
>w-white genocide!
back to /pol/
there aren't any native niggers in hawaii tho
“Their own country” meaning... the United States?
if they are colonies how come they get money instead of giving
No, they’re official states, granted just as much representation and autonomy as the other states. As others have said already, Puerto Rico and Guam could more accurately be called colonies, similar to how an argument could be made that Gibraltar, St. Helena and the Falklands are colonies of the UK while Northern Ireland is not.
no, no, and no
Yes.
Polynesians aren't exactly white.
I think he means the natives.
Alaskans and Hawaiians see themselves as Americans, are represented in the American government, and receive full benefits of being part of the United States. You could make an argument that the US insular areas are colonies but they're not clamoring for independence. Texas's independence movement is unironically stronger than Puerto Rico's.
>talks about plight of native people

JUST try to think about something and calm down
Poor native hawaiians
Hawaiian tribes are white???
Why would you feel bad? Their isolation from the herd meant their immune systems couldn't handle the diseases of global human society.
"Native Hawaiians" were a Marquesan underclass ruled by shamanistic taboos dictated by Tahitians who were bigger, stronger, and had better boats. All those alii who get lionized even though they were dissolute drunkards after discovery? Just Tahitian thugs.
The only right is might. If your society cannot compete, it dies.
