imagine living in fake history
kitsch is for plebs
How the fuck did those cars enter a closed backyard?
through the gate.
Some of those houses aren't houses, they're just archs. Drive right under.
It's not fake and it's not history, it's also not kitsch

I am conflited on the arches honestly
WHY THE FUCKING FUCK DO PEOPLE NEVER POST NICE FUCKING ARCHITECTURE
People do and have done so on most threads of the past
neoclasshit stuff gets posted in every architecture thread
I mostly see either shitty modern architecture
Brutalism
Or garish historical buildings
I wish people would stop painting otherwise nice buildings in bright colours
They do, a lot. Most threads are in fact.
And somewhat on this topic: modern architecture is genuinely, almost objectively ugly. It's one of the few things /pol/ is 100% right about: the emphasis on utilitarian structure erases all sense of culture or identity, and feels soul-sucking to be surrounded by 24/7 because it lacks any kind of beauty or artistry. And the rise of avant-garde "postmodernist" architecture being basically just ugly Bauhaus-flavored modernist architecture with random bellends hanging off at random angles is only making it worse by being ironically ugly on purpose because I was just pretending to be retarded.
Pic related is from poo-land and built in 2005. The west could learn a thing or two about building new structures that retain classical sensibility from the Indians. If they can do it there's no feasible reason we can't.
Fuck that is beautiful
This is also bretty gud
Methodist hall
Best cathedral in yurope
Of course it is. The entire modern doctrine is dictated on not conforming to human beauty standards.
There are several new classical buildings that could have been built in the past decades that could pass for pre modernist. Also several architecture courses that focus exclusively on classical architecture in the uk and even america, but they are relatively recent
Why aren't "starter homes" a thing anymore?
Also more residential architecture please
jews
>residential architecture
Post Baltic Sea buildings fellow whites
Because the land is by far the most expensive part of most homes.
In the US? They are, but this depends on the state. California passed zoning laws which basically ensure new homes can't be built, so the housing market becomes scarce as fuck and housing costs become unfathomably high. California is a huge shithole.
>the "when people build beautiful things it must be fake" meme
By that logic all 19th century architecture is fake as well.
Ugly for the sake of preserving the state endorced monopoly as laid out by Bauhaus and the 1930 Stockholm exhibition is for plebs and the
It goes even further. The columns of the colosseum are not structural at all, they're ""fake""
It's not like people couldn't have ever built ornamentless brick buildings with white painting and bad proportions before the 20th century, they just didn't have the mentality of building bad buildings
