So I had a friend laugh at me in the gym after I said I could only deadlift 135 for two reps. He the proceeded to put a 45 on either side and deadlift it, when I complained he was only doing 90lbs and at most 110lbs with the bar included he just laughed harder. Am I retarded and could someone explain this to me.
Hunter Cruz
He's shitting on you for having less reps and basically cheating? No idea what's the proper amount of sets and reps, also depends how far you are into weight lifting.
Jack Taylor
Stale bait but it will attract you're (yous)

I understand how this must look, but I've not been lifting for very long and until a week ago have never lifted with anyone else, is there something obvious which I'm missing?
Nolan Thomas
The bar weighs 45lbs, so with a 45lb plate on each side, the totoal weight being lifted is 135lbs. (45 x 2 + 45 = 135)
Christian Jones
AAAAnd now I'm going to go hang myself. Thanks for explaining this though, I thought it was at most 20lbs.
Jace Hernandez
I think it may vary a little, but most are likely 45lbs, at least in a gym
Austin Torres
user.....
Jace Gray
how the fuck do you put 3 plates on a barbell? wouldn't that put you off balance?
Brody Rogers
it's 3 on each side dummy
Jace Edwards
Obviously you put more weight on your stronger side....
