Why am i getting stronger but not noticeably bigger?

Why am i getting stronger but not noticeably bigger?

noob gainz

Because you're strength training.
What else do you expect?

do more reps for less weight

because you are most likely fell for the SS or 5x5 meme

It's because your not eating nigger!
Eat more, get big, CMON. Faggot!

Because you don't have enough hypertrophy in your routine. Consider doing slow eccentric movements (as in when you lower the weight go slow as fuck to fuck up your muscle fibers more to get them to grow more) if you don't want to change your routine. Alternatively consider adding more sets (to increase volume) or changing to less weight with more reps (again to increase volume),

this.

slow eccentrics are your friends, even at low weights.

Yeah, time under tension

That user again: slow eccentrics also help train you to handle heavy weights better and force you to focus on having good form instead of just letting that shit drop.

Basically, everyone who wants to get bigger should do them. Even people who don't want to get big should do them. Hell just fucking do them and enjoy the benefits of being a better lifter and growing more.

is this actually true?

Yes.
It's called training for mass or bodybuilding.
Not what the heavily "enhanced" guys are doing but basic bodybuilding.

That's how you build peak mass, work capacity and strength. Not as much strength as pure strength training.

Not that user, but it's basically true. It's about volume. By lowering the weight you can do more reps in a set allowing you to tear more muscle fibers and promote more growth.

Alternate method is to do more sets using heavy weights. High weight, high volume tends to follow this path more.

because you're doing strength training at low reps and most of the strength increase is your CNS getting better at recruiting muscles

Considering OP is seeing strength gains, their diet might not be too far off, but yes, they may need to start a clean bulk to aid in adding mass if they're already doing training with a reasonable amount of volume.

Train for hypertrophy, lighter weights and focus on time under tension

Ebn this, OP just isn't doing enough sets. For example, 5x5 is pretty big and pretty heavy, but 5x5, 3x3 is really big and really heavy. It requires more to recover from, but who cares when you'll be making proper gains.

Jesus christ yes it's true, read the fucking sticky.

Do more Volume

The problem with that is...you litterally CANT do more sets with heavy as fuck weights.
He doesn't have the work capacity or is enhanced enough to do it.

And it's not just about pure volume. It's about going to almost muscular failure. That's where the gains both in mass and strength are best.

You simply can not do that kind of workout on a pure strength training program where max numbers matter more then anything else. Even health.

because you started as a weakling and you havent gotten that much stronger so you arent noticing anything

mass = strength. these retards are all wrong
