I want to take a break from deadlifting for a bit and focus more.on squatting.
Is the Russian Squat Program any good?
>taking a break from the best lift to focus on the worst
I like squatting though.
And my deadlift is way ahead of my other lifts anyway
Yes, it's a good program. Your deadlift will in all likelihood not decrease, it will probably go up some. If you can put 10kg on your squat why would it go down? If you do the program I would recommend that you do some extra lower back/hamstring/abs work some days, like reverse hypers, back raises, ghr, even standing leg curls.
Unironically smolov jr if you can handle it desu. And I had a friend who ran the Russian squat program, worked fairly well for him even though he squatted like 530+ at the time.
>If you can put 10kg on your squat why would it go down
grip, lack of training, specificity, etc
mfw lift once a week. All programs are overtraining. You are wearing yourself out and aging faster (so-called "aging" is just accumulated damage). This is being discovered. Who else here /fullrecovery/?
I have shoulder impingement bros. Cut OHP a couple weeks ago and decided after benching hurt like hell today that I'll have to cut that for a while.
All after I finally broke though my bench plateau, too.
WTF am I supposed to do? Programming was all built around bench.
Can you squat?

Some of us compete you fucking momo
Squats and deads are no problem.

AAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
what should I try next? I was thingken judo
weighted pushups
You'll feel uncoordinated in anything physical, just pick something you'll find interesting and stick with it. I did taekwon do to a reasonable level and spent most of the summer on the bmx track as a kid and I still felt out of my depth after a year of BJJ.
Assuming you're not competing in powerlifting, you'll probably benefit from training some athletic qualities instead of focusing on lifting for a while.
But the most important thing is accepting it's going to suck for ages, and that's OK as a beginner. Especially in martial arts.
>you'll probably benefit from training some athletic qualities instead of focusing on lifting for a while
like what?
Not being out of breath after climbing 5 stairs.
it wasn't about cardio, it was about not knowing how to move my feet and body awareness when tackling/getting tackled
Don't immediately give up you weak faggot.
If you suck at something get better, don't turn tail and run away like the prancing homo la-la man you are.
General cardio, movement that isn't S/B/D, being able to change direction without falling over your own feet, jumps of different varieties. Getting down to the floor and back to your feet without your knees exploding and groaning like an old man. That kinda shit.
desu im fine with sucking its just that most of the people seemed like the frat boy type
thanks

Frog became a big boy
Random question. I remembr watching a vid of rip talking about old school powerlifters and one had the manliest name Ive ever heard, it was something like Dick Thundertrout but I can't find it. Anyone help?
Can someone please post the pull-up program that was being posted here a few times a while ago.
>5'9
I was sure hes 5'7
He's not 193lbs either
HAHAHAHA he just got fat
>the absolute STATE of frog
Is picrel a meme? Wanted comfy shoes for my squatz and bought them
Anyone else has them?
Who fucking cares
So it's four fucking AM and I just got back from the gym and Volume Day that took, I shit you not, six hours between walking in the door and walking out at the end, partly because I got distracted by a remarkably decent football game, partly because I spent way too much time joking around with others in between sets, partly because I showered at the gym, and partly because this shit was going to take AT LEAST three and a half hours anyway.
AND I found out that the homosexual at work (not judging, just a statement of fact) quit and I would have to actually go in and cover his morning shift about 10 minutes before I left for the workout at 8 PM. That's what a Volume Day needs, about four hours of sleep.
I'm going to shovel a pint of yogurt into my fat face, kill a protein shake, take what is essentially a nap, snort a rail of pre-workout, and MAYBE get some fucking sleep tomorrow night.
>This blog post justified by the fact that I squat 600 lbs, as I'm sure you've heard me mention in pretty much every post I make.
>buying stuff randomly

I have the 2.0s. After nearly three years of lifting and waddling back and forth to the water fountain three times in between every set, they are finally starting to show some real wear and tear (the back inside of the shoe where one's Achilles attachment would rub has worn completely through the fabric on both shoes, and the rubber soles are starting to show visible wear around the edges).
But they've worked nicely, are INFINITELY better than squatting in any nonlifting shoe like a goddamn scrub, and last well considering they're about the cheapest option available. The relatively low heel (.6 inches rather than .75 inches, which I believe was kept with the 3.0) is probably best for powerlifting purposes.
I which someone still made a half inch heel that wasn't some fucking $400 ASICS shoe hand whittled from a solid wood block by a blind Japanese master.

Last night's session was fucking brutal. Felt like a train had ran me over after.
It's not a blogpost unless it's two paragraphs long.
What you just posted was a tweet.

Its the shittiest forced meme ever
Does anyone have any suggestions for improving overall body tightness under stress? I have a problem maintaining tightness in any and all places in my body, which makes many lifts difficult. I used to lift well, but my ability to maintain body tightness during lifts is making it very difficult to improve my lifts again.
I am asthmatic, but I don't know if it's an asthma problem (and if it is, it cannot be helped). It could be a psychological problem, as I often have to wait a while to do even some lighter lifts. I will stand for minutes at a time, even if I'm not tired, trying to do dumbell shrugs, but I just can't tighten myself. I have this mental block that cloaks over me and all my lifts. I can't seem to get past it, no matter what I do.
Are there any supplements that can help me with this? To clarify, I'm not looking for stimulants to give me energy, but for something to assist my ability to tighten my muscles under load. Any insight on this matter would be appreciated.
And then people tell me tm is not for fatties with shit conditioning.
Yesterday I squatted something over 100kg for the first time in 2 months without pain I feel like I'm finally on track to recover, also I'm sure I'm gonna bench more than you by the end of this year :)
Are you seriously completing the rep ranges, like did you really squat 5x8 at 77.5%?
Thanks, Mr.Tripman
I haven't trained since Thurs, nice upper body session planned if my shoulder behaves today though.

How clumsy are you? How do you feel about sudden changes to your routine?
Nice cry-blog.
I don't fear changes to my routine. I am not particularly clumsy either. That said, I've injured myself a few times before. I have had a confusing and uncertain lifting journey, coupled with injuries and newfound illness.
I've been trying to push past all of this after much deliberationa. I've done stretches, improved my form/breathing patterns, and tried to stay consistent, yet I can't fall into the zone like I used to. I often end up choking (both physical and mentally), and can't perform my lifts. I haven't been able to get lifting highs since late last year. I feel like that's tied to my breathing problems, but that's fucked, and no doctor can help me.
I think my brain has become hard-coded to realize that I'll hurt myself if I can't tighten my muscles and get into the zone, so I can't perform my lifts. I can't say for sure, but that's what it feels like.
Yeah. At 185kg. My comp best is 227.5kg
Work that out
how fast to bulk???
Mental GDE, a bad case.
You also talk like a fag.
just got back home
>dead: 2x3 @ 85%, 2x1 @ 95%
>press: 2x3 @ 85%, 2x2 @ 90%, 2x1 @ 95%
i just want to lay down and sleep for 12 hours but i have to go to class :(
Looking to replace my chucks with real shoes but not sure what to buy. What are a preferrable all around good shoe for squats and deadlifts.
>all around good shoe for squats and deadlifts
Buy dedicated squat shoes and shill out an extra $10 for deadlift slippers. It's retarded to use the same shoe in two exercises when one requires as high as possible heels and the other requires them as low as possible
'GDE'?
Does seriously nobody have the fucking pull-up program? Come on, guys!
Going to Die Early
Can I please have a formcheck on my sumo deadlift? Just coming back from more than a year off, and I want to get the form right.
Guys, so I rekked my lower back and I can't squat/deadlift much for 2 weeks. However, I can bench.
Smolov jr?
power perfect 2 for everything except deadlift.
deadlift slipper @10$ for dl.
Do you think LP is always better than periodisation if it works for you?
Eg. sets of 5 LP or a cuckols routine where rep ranges are cycled during the month (1x dl)
last time i asked that guy, he had this new program:
work up to a max of pullup/chinup in 1 set.
Then do as many sets x reps as necessary to complete double of the set 1 reps.
Ex:
Set 1: 1x5 (5 reps, aka you need to complete 10 reps)
Set 2: 1x4
Set 3: 1x4
Set 4: 1x2
Ideally, you should be able to do 1 extra rep on Set1 each session or each week.

According to cronometer I'm getting excessive amounts of sodium daily. (today 450% of recommendation) Is this something to worry about?
I have pic related and they are basically the same, great shoes.
What should I do about this, then?
>inb4 "don't be a bitch nigger", that's obviously not working based on how much I'm complaining.
>sumo
ur ghey lol
Shoulders too far back and ass too far down during setup, back hyperextended during lockout in the first few reps
mirin
IT'S THE MINDSET!
I fucked up my lower back, that's why I'm experimenting with sumo a little.
So how far forward should my shoulders be approx.? And where should my ass be during setup?
Was the lift itself (apart from the hyperextension and setup issues) OK?
I deadlift in oly shoes and it feels way better than flat shoes for
I fugured if they're good enough for clarence to pull 340 kg they're good enough for me
I had the 2.0, but I bought More Mile powerlifting shoes to try them out, I mean hey, couldn't go wrong for less than 40 bucks. I've since then switched to the More Mile shoes as I like them more than the 2.0
Watch any "how to deadlift" tutorial, your shoulderBLADES should be directly above the bar. If you co that your ass will follow and be in the correct place.
Other than that great lift, go get them
>tfw this is probably a meme and I haven't kept up with my old home-board's jokes for ages.
